The Tryst Beachfront Hotel

The location is great. The beachfront view is great (although it isn't recommended to swim in the Condado beach due to contamination).I was allowed to book a room super last minute in an emergency, so they came in handy. The receptionist Noel carried the customer service on his back - he was amazing, but was the only one who checked in on me. You aren't allowed to sit in the communal space unless you're ordering food or drinks (I was kicked out of my seat). The room always smelled weird because a smell of smoke/heat was constantly coming out of the AC. And I'm pretty sure my sheets weren't changed at all, though my bed was being made, and the floor of my room was never swept. (I consistently had sand under my feet just from walking around my room.) Wouldn't recommend the place, though it checked the important boxes in an emergency.

This is my new favorite place in PR. The service was unbelievable… the staff wasn’t just exceptionally attentive but genuinely nice and caring. It felt so welcoming at every turn, from the restaurant, to the management, to the beach front bar. Willie was amazing to us, from the drinks to small touches like noticing my fiancé needed more shade and offering another seat for him. That’s the difference between good service and amazing hospitality. This place is a true treasure, and we will be back every chance we get. Thank you for making our experience an unforgettable one.

Amazing Drag Brunch, But the Food Needs Work We came to The Tryst for the drag brunch (not to stay at the hotel), and the show was absolutely incredible — easily 5 stars. The performers were so fun and engaging, the energy was high, and the whole experience was a blast. If you’re coming for the entertainment, you won’t be disappointed. That said, the restaurant/bar side missed the mark for me. I ordered the poke bowl, and honestly, it was the worst one I’ve ever had. The salmon came out cooked (not raw like a traditional poke bowl), the rice was undercooked, the egg was hard-boiled, and the whole thing was smothered in way too much mayo. I know it’s just a $10 add-on with the bottomless mimosas, but even at that price point, it just wasn’t good. As for the bottomless mimosas, they were really juice-heavy. Thankfully, our server Chris was super accommodating when we asked for a little less juice and more champagne — obviously within the limits of what he was allowed to do, and we really appreciated his attentiveness. Still, for the price, it would’ve been nice if the mimosas weren’t premixed. You can’t adjust the ratio or get a bottle at the table, which definitely takes away from the experience. Overall, I’d come back for the drag brunch in a heartbeat — it’s worth it for the show and the vibe. Just don’t come expecting stellar food or drinks.

Amazing location on the beach. The restaurant is phenomenal with great food options right on the water. You can eat there and get a cabana right outside on the beach. You can also order straight to the cabana chairs as well (drinks, food, etc) and the service to the chair is great. Always checking up on you and making sure you have what you need. They also where pink speedos or shorts which is cute and fun.

My mom and I decided to make an impromptu trip to PR and we were blessed to stay at The Tryst. It’s not far from the airport and the beach is right outside! The workers were very kind, especially Noel at the front desk. Noel went above and beyond to make sure my stay was one to remember. He was very welcoming, attentive to people’s needs, and always willing to listen. I would definitely come back here and recommend this hotel to anyone!
