I started the hike around 11 AM. The drive up the mountain took about 20 minutes, and while there's no phone signal in the area, the road is easy enough to remember. We parked by a tree near the house at the end of the road. Important Note: This hike may not be suitable for children, pets, or elderly individuals due to some challenging sections. Once you reach the first waterfall, the trail can be a little confusing—there are no signs. You'll need to cross the stream and make a left to continue. From there, the trail is fairly clear. The second waterfall is lovely and worth the effort. You’ll go down two steep sections—there’s a metal wire to help with balance, which is very helpful. When you arrive at the main falls, prepare to be amazed. The water is cold, clear, and absolutely stunning. Tips: Avoid going after or during rain—the trail gets extremely muddy, even on a sunny day. Bring at least two bottles of water per person. Don’t forget mosquito repellent. It’s a beautiful and rewarding hike if you're prepared!

We parked near a 'No Littering' sign on the left side of the dead-end road before the house. The trail was well-marked, with two water crossings. Even in relatively dry conditions, some areas were still muddy and slippery. Water shoes with good grip will be very helpful. We hiked with two 8-year-olds, and they completed the trail without complaints—a little impressive! This was probably the most challenging hike we've done. It took about 40 minutes to reach the falls and 30 minutes to return. Two steep sections have metal cables to assist hikers, which we found very helpful. There is no cell service at the trailhead or along the trail, so plan ahead. Beautiful waterfall, and we had it all to ourselves, so definitely worth the trek.

This is a great waterfall with a pool to swim. Medium challenging trail. Less than a mile in length but with lots of rocks, roots and mud. Two sections have a rope to assist with the descent. Go slow… Well worth the hike. I do not recommend for someone that is physically challenged.

It was a tought hike but it was so worth it, the views along the way were veey nice. The waterfall was beautiful and it felt private bwcause there weren’t many people. 100% recommend and make sure to wear sneakers it can be a bit slippery.

Heed my warning well; this is not an easy hike or drive. The drive up to Salto Santa Clara is dizzying, winding, and narrow with a one lane road up a mountain. The hike was actually very challenging. Steep slopes and mud paths which will definitely be slick/ near impossible after rain fall. Even when dry, this hike is tricky. Several very steep sections where you must descend/ascend holding a metal rope affixed to a fallen tree branch. the methods of traversal here seem haphazard and almost like a second thought. Prepare appropriately; proper footwear for hiking, clothing to protect from spiders (and swim trunks for the payoff), lots of water and snacks. The payoff was amazing. Being able to completely submerge myself in cold river water directly from a waterfall was a beautiful experience. Very nice to swim and relax after the journey. The hike back up felt a lot easier as well. Be careful!!
