Awesome waterfall and swimming area!
We took 6 kids, ages 9-14 and we all had a wonderful time. The kids were champs and good swimmers, which is definitely necessary. We climbed up into the waterfall and swam around that little water hole too. Some other people arrived as we were leaving and they did some cliff jumping.
We missed our turns 2 times, so it took longer to get there than expected. The walk out was just about 15-20 minutes. Hopefully these pics and tips will help others enjoy this little slice of heaven too.
this hike is not for the weak but it’s totally worth it. be prepared for a super muddy and difficult trail especially if it has recently rained. when you arrive park in front of the house with the fence where the trail begins or you can park back down the road you came on if there aren’t enough spots. follow the trail for about 15 minutes until you come upon a few right hand trails. now you have the choice to go down one of these trails and walk in the water and on the rocks or continue straight on the muddy trail until you hit the waterfall. if you want to stay on the mud path, continue walking until you find the tree with the red spray paint. turn right down that path to hit the water and continue up stream to the falls. it feels far and like you’ve missed it but just keep going until you see it. once you go down into the water/river you won’t be able to see the waterfalls yet. go upstream until you see the falls, they’re absolutely gorgeous and you can climb up them and jump off the tall rock if you’re up for it. difficult hike but totally worth it!
Had an amazing time. People give you different directions on how to get to the waterfall we follow two different directions but both ways do lead to the waterfall. Beautiful hike to the waterfall definitely worth it!! We went the path that you had across the street and up and around. But upon going back it's a straight shot. The entrance is at the very top of the hill on the side of the house follow the fence into the forest follow and tell there's a fork at the road you'll see a tree with arrows go to the left and follow it around you'll start hearing the waterfall when you get close.
Parking is limited to maybe 5 cars, trail is easy but make sure you look for the split in the trail with a tree that has a faint carved arrow pointing to the right. You will drop into a small creak, go down the creak maybe 10 feet and continue on the trail, following the main creak up. Only one other person was at the falls.
I did this hike solo but ended up meeting people along the way. Thank goodness because I don't know if I would've found the trail. So the parking is legit right off the road. I parked a little further down on this little side road and walked back to the fence along the house to start the hike.
The hike is about 20-30 min, a little slower today bc it was raining and muddy. Some parts very muddy so be careful.
I was lost for 45 min and went all the wrong ways at first until someone helped me. Learn from my mistakes. So you'll be walking along the trail and see the creek/running water to your right. About 10-15 min in the hike you'll see an off shoot trail to the right. Do not that that. Soon after, like a min or two you'll see another trail to the right. Take that!! It'll be after two trees that are split like a Y and have carvings in them. There was a flip flop in the tree too. This trail will rocky and muddy and follow along the creek until you make it the swimming hole/water fall! I hope you find it!
