We visited Culebra Island in 2019 for a one-day trip, arriving by ferry and renting cars to get to the beach. The beach itself is absolutely stunning — crystal-clear water and soft white sand. I honestly think it’s one of the best beaches I’ve ever seen.
The surrounding area could be cleaner, and there are no proper restaurants near the beach — just a small stand with basic snacks. I’d recommend having a meal in town instead. After our beach time, we had a very nice dinner in a proper restaurant there, which was a much better option.
The beauty of the beach alone makes the trip unforgettable
Culebra completely took my breath away. The beaches are straight out of a postcard — soft white sand, crystal-clear waters, and a calm, peaceful vibe that makes you never want to leave. Snorkeling with sea turtles, relaxing under the sun, and soaking in the natural beauty of Flamenco Beach was unforgettable. It’s the kind of place that stays with you long after you’ve left. I’m already dreaming about going back.
Beautiful beaches, but not a great island vibe, and the buildings and infrastructure aren't well kept up. If you're not Puerto Rican, the residents of this island won't try hard to hide the fact that they don't want you here, which is sad because tourism is probably the only thing keeping this place going.
But since you're here, island businesses won't hesitate to extract every single dollar they possibly can from you, the tourist, when you use a service or go out to eat. There's island pricing, and then there's Culebra.
Don't expect any night life either. If you're seeking some of the nicest beaches in the Caribbean and don't mind keeping to yourself and using the grocery store as much as possible, Culebra might be a good spot.
Its beautiful the problem is the ferry. The government have many problems with the ferry and in the pier. If you have a ticket you won the lottery. If you want you can take a airplane but is to $$$$$.
