Big resort in the north east side of Puerto Rico... it's as big as it gets. Tennis courts are just in so-so maintenance, draining (rain water) being the biggest issue.
These are the crappiest tennis courts you will find in Puerto Rico. I am a country club member, and have been for years. They just completely ruined our hard courts, by turning them into pickle ball courts, and the clay courts are literally unplayable. The clay is so thick (4-6x the har-tru spec) that balls either skid through like mud, or bounce 12 feet into the air.
The tennis director, who has previously worked as a pro, and at Dorado, has been made aware of our concerns. My impression is that she is shackled by budget constraints from her managers.
At a minimum, the clay courts need to have 3/4 of the existing clay removed, and maintained to Har-tru standard specs. They also need to be watered twice daily.
Personally, I am canceling my annual membership, and I know of several friends that are doing the same.
I simply cannot recommend that anybody play here. The courts are that bad. It saddens me to have write my opinions in a place like this, but if the management won't listen, what else can I do?
15 years ago- this was the place. Now, lack of upkeep makes it ordinary. Bring back the restaurant, and make this place te premier tennis center like before
I will never come back to the hotel. When I called upon my arrival they said, everything is open and working, when I arrived nothing was open. Not good service, they didn’t do anything about that not even the drinks on the house. I don’t recommend this hotel if you wish to stay in the Puerto Rico.
