Not worth the price. Staff friendly and accommodating but services were lackluster to say the least. Think twice...
Thank you for your response. I appreciate Roberto’s warm welcome and thoughtful question about my prior massage experience—he was excellent, and Hazel at the front desk was also wonderful.
That said, I regularly see a chiropractor and receive professional massage therapy, so I have a clear sense of quality and service standards. Unfortunately, my experience at Zen Oceano Spa didn’t meet those expectations, especially at this price point.
There was confusion around the Caribe Hilton discount—I booked online assuming it would be applied, but it was never clearly explained or honored. The lack of transparency around pricing and discounts was disappointing.
While the spa setting was serene and the staff friendly, the actual services didn’t deliver. The facial products burned my skin, and the manicure was very basic for what was advertised as a luxury spa treatment.
I’ve since read other reviews echoing similar concerns. I truly wanted to enjoy my visit, but the experience fell short. For the cost, the value just wasn’t there.
Disappointing Birthday Spa Experience – Not Worth the Hype or the Price
I booked a couples beachside spa for my 30th birthday, hoping for a relaxing, special experience—but unfortunately, it turned out to be the exact opposite.
We paid around $500 for a 50-minute massage scheduled at 9:00 AM. We arrived at 9:02—just two minutes late—and were immediately told, rather rudely, that our session would be shortened to 48 minutes. While we understand the importance of being on time, the lack of grace or warmth from the front desk (especially considering the price and occasion) was incredibly disappointing.
What made things worse was that the female masseuse we had specifically requested (and booked in advance) had already been given to another client in that 2-minute window.
What was supposed to be a relaxing, romantic birthday treat turned into a stressful and frustrating experience. For the price we paid and the setting being marketed as luxurious, the service was shockingly rigid, unaccommodating, and impersonal.
We wouldn’t return or recommend this spa, especially for a special occasion. There are far better places that understand hospitality, flexibility, and how to treat guests with care.
Updated: We were not advised to come early when my husband came in “in-person” 2 days prior to the service to make an appointment. I understand the value of time and we would happily come early if we were advised. Still can’t believe 2 minutes is such a big deal. And yes we enjoyed the amenities since we paid for it :)
Enjoyed the experience. Gustavo is excellent at what he does. Wish they had packages for locals and also packages for senior citizens. We have fix incomes and cannot afford such expensive messages. $60 would be appropriate. Make my dreams come true!
The luxurious spa experience that Zen Spa Oceano has created is beyond measure. I would like to extend the utmost gratitude to the incredibly hospitable receptionists and talented masseuse that I had. The 50 minute Zenssage is well worth the price-point. Thank you
Julianna and Cydmarie did our couples spa/massage. They were amazing, skilled, and nice. We enjoyed it very much. The entire facility is well ran and kept. Also, clean. The front desk was helpful and welcoming. Thank you so much!
