1479 Ashford Ave. The building on the outside and inside is dated. From what I’m reading , repairs have been needed for years. We were very fortunate to have an apt hosted on Airbnb on the 20th floor. It was very clean. Well maintained. The view from the apt is lovely. Apt 2009~ Tropical Suite
I gave the owners a 5 star review on Airbnb. However, they didn’t review us so I guess they’ll never see it.
The building on the outside and inside is an eyesore compared to other buildings around. The hallway paint job is terrible. Parts of the outside look corroded. The front door reception should be locked but it’s not. The reception doesn’t question anyone walking in or out. There is a front gate. And a guard seated in the booth at the sidewalk level.
I feel bad for the apt owners because I think their hands are tied when it comes to the building maintenance. The elevator has no ac so you’re dying from the heat by the time you reach the ground floor. And it’s not a fast moving elevator.
I’ve listed some negatives. The positives are that the neighborhood is walkable with shops and restaurants to visit. There’s a gym and laundry which we didn’t use. The pool area seems ok. The beach is right there through a locked gate.
Stayed in an airbnb here. The airbnb was very nice on the inside. The whole place on the outside looks intimidating, dirty and scary. Having security was helpful in easing fears but if you want upscale environment this is not it. They do have a gym, laundry, and a pool that didn't smell like chlorine. Nice beach area. They just need to paint and finish repairs for this place to look better.
Great location in a nice neighborhood. Our condo (which was very nice) was on the 3rd floor facing the parking lot. Very noisy starting at 4:30 every morning. The security was not the best. The building was old and under renovations. The pool was very big (kids can’t play ball, adults can’t have drinks). There were many rules in and around this building and we were not welcomed by the permanent residents.
It’s worn down building. When I was about to go to the room I noticed the walls were old looking and bad a hole. The bathroom had stains that I did not comprehend, wasn’t sure if it was a crime scene or just dirty past tenants. The doors for the balcony door was worn down, it required a lot of pushing the door innorder to close it.
The ocean view is wonderful and peaceful.
I recommend an inspection and cleaning lady before renting to someone else. We want an experience that we paid for. The doors didn’t seem safe, there was no extra locks.
Got an ABNB here, definitely worth it over a hotel, and cheaper than one. Nice pool, open all night, and access to the beach from the pool. They even had BBQ grills available to use. Seen a little wildlife prancing through as well!!
