A great dining experience. Everything was exquisite, and the service was first-rate.
100% recommended.
** The only discordant note was the semi-formal dress code, which no one observed, and which, due to our lack of knowledge, made us feel "overdressed." Other than that, it's a very elegant and welcoming restaurant, and Jay took wonderful care of us.
I love Puerto Rican cuisine, and I truly appreciate chefs who innovate by blending local gastronomy with Spanish, Italian, and even Mexican influences. Unfortunately, La Pícara was a huge disappointment.
We arrived with high expectations, only to be let down at every turn. The appetizers—burrata, octopus ceviche, and steak tartare—were mediocre at best, lacking the bold flavors and quality we had hoped for. But the real letdown was the 20oz Ribeye Steak Prime Dry Aged, priced at a staggering $145. Not only did it seem smaller than advertised, but the flavor was completely off—it was rubbery, bland, and far from what you’d expect from a premium cut.
This place feels like a total tourist trap. It’s frustrating to have wasted one of our valuable nights here. Definitely not worth the hype or the price.

**Best restaurant in Puerto Rico!**
La Pícara was one of the highlights of our trip. The food is amazing — full of flavor, fun, and clearly made with love. Chef Xiomy really knows what she’s doing. The vibe is cool and welcoming, and the cocktails were some of the best we’ve had.
**If you’re visiting Puerto Rico, don’t leave without eating here.** Trust me, you won’t regret it.
Might be the best food in San Juan. Exceptional service, a well appointed dining room, damn good food, and great drinks. Came with a group and started with a variety of appetizers. The cod croquettes were the stand out. The texture was perfect and the fish was incorporated expertly. The cochinillo is among the best I've ever had. The malanga as a side was the star. The pasta should be ignored here in comparison to the other offerings they have. Save room for the desert too, both the basque cheesecake and the bread pudding were just as good as the mains. Credit to the staff here. I look forward to coming back.
