I had an unacceptable experience at Pueblo grocery. I am a well-traveled, high-profile foreign professional, and I walked into the store dressed as any normal person would. The cashier at the register treated me with rudeness and a lack of courtesy that no customer should ever face.
She first asked if I had points; I said no, and she pressed something on the screen. The machine told me to remove my card, so I thought the payment was complete. Instead of clarifying politely, she turned with a straight face and snapped, “Put it back,” in a cold, unpleasant tone. There was no attempt at explanation, just a dismissive attitude.
What stood out most was what happened immediately after: another Spanish-speaking customer came up, and suddenly the cashier’s demeanor changed completely—smiling, friendly, and saying “gracias.” The contrast in treatment could not have been more obvious.
If someone like me—an international professional who respects local culture—can be treated this way, it speaks volumes about how poorly outsiders can be regarded. Courtesy and professionalism should never depend on language or background. This kind of behavior leaves a deeply negative impression of the store and, unfortunately, of the culture it represents!
Really good store, they have all groceries and a good produce department. Their deli is good and they also have a hot food section. The staff are very nice and attentive and the prices are fine.
This supermarket sucks. The produce and other fresh product is often past its sell through date. The pricing at the register is higher than the prices at the shelves. I’m so glad with the new market I no longer have to visit this rude rip off place NOTE vegetables and fruit travel from California and are two weeks old before they show up on the store shelves. I
Great super market for your traveling and day to day needs. They also sell liquor too. Great general grocery store. The hot food they serve at lunch was also good and affordable
