This was easily one of the best experiences I’ve had. We repelled into a cave, jumped into the water of one cave from another for a swim, trekked through some cool trails, and explored multiple different caves. Gabriel was a great guide and explained the history of the different areas as well. If I am back, there is no doubt I will do this tour again.

This is a must-do excursion. We tend to think of Puerto Rico as all beaches but the interior is much larger and geographically very diverse. Gabriel was a wonderful, fun guide as he led us through a number of caves after walking about a mile into a beautiful, tropical forest. His insights about the ecology of the area and the history of the people who have lived on Borinquen is extensive, as is his wonderful sense of humor and attention to keeping everyone safe. The caves themselves are fascinating and beautiful though you should plan to get wet and even to swim a bit (life jackets are provided); the passageways are large enough that one never feels claustrophobic (my concern). You'll have the option of rappelling down into one of the caves to get started but if you aren't comfortable with that there is no need to do so. So take advantage of this and if you need a place to stay, stay at Hotel Libertad in downtown Lares. It's a gem!

Wow!!! I can’t recommend this tour enough! It was a highlight of our trip. We felt like we saw a beautiful and hidden area of the beautiful mountains and exciting caves of Puerto Rico. Gabriel was our guide and he was knowledgeable, kind, funny and helpful! He made sure safety was top priority and fun and adventure close behind! We hiked to the caves through jungles. Saw native fruits, animals, and artifacts. Gabriel is a gem of a person and so humble. He owns his own hotel in Lares that we checked out after the tour. We wished we had stayed there in the cute town and beautiful pink hotel! We booked a private tour for our family group and would do it again when we return in the years to come. 100% recommend.

If you're currently researching your trip or on the fence about booking a tour with Puerto Rico Interior Tours...DO IT! I could not recommend it more highly. Gabriel was gracious enough to allow my brother and me to book a last minute tour and we could not have anticipated how this would become an absolute highlight of our trip and one of our most memorable days together. We booked the full package...7 caves with repelling included...and encourage you to do the same! We hiked through his beautiful (almost) rain forest, explored unique caves, saw ancient carvings in stone, and repelled down into a cave where we took a jump into a pool of water. Great stories to go home and tell! :) Gabriel is as kind, patient and genuine a person as they come and was so knowledgable, sharing fascinating information all along the way while also keeping us laughing! He busted out and covered us in Off as needed so not a bug bite was to be found afterwards...and he was thorough in documenting our trek in pictures and videos so we could just enjoy the experience. And that we did! If you book this tour, take snacks/water and go prepared for a good amount of hiking and to get wet (including shoes...we wore water shoes but some might prefer boots...just know they will get soaked), and most of all to have an adventure you will remember forever! As a side note, Gabriel owns and operates a lovely pink hotel in Lares, Hotel Libertad, that he has spent 5 years renovating himself. We visited it afterwards and would have loved to have stayed had we had more time. Check it out as well!

Gabriel and Rosa provided us with a bucket list experience. It was phenomenal! You can tell how much Gabriel loves history and preservation and taught us a lot about the caves we saw. We jumped down waterfalls, crawled through small openings and swam around the spring water. The hike was gorgeous. We saw wild passion fruits, grapefruits, giant ferns and tons of other beautiful plants. They also took so many photos which was incredible because we didn’t have our phones accessible and really got to enjoy the experience. They were very safe and ensured we were all comfortable with every aspect of the repelling before proceeding. I would highly recommend trying it! We will definitely be visiting Gabriel again for more adventures on our next trip to Puerto Rico. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
