Diego was awesome! (So were the others but I forgot their names. ) I’m old and very out of shape. The hardest part was the walk up the road that was very steep. I wasn’t sure I would make it after that and almost went back. He convinced me to keep going, and I’m so glad I did! The waterfall repelling was my favorite part. The dessert and “add-on” at lunch were delicious! What a memorable experience!!!
We had an amazing time on our adventure tour. Transportation was provided from San Juan to Caguas. Our tour guides were excellent, provided interesting information about the area, and guided us through the hike, waterfall rappel, and zip lines. We particularly loved the rappel. It was a beautiful area with lush vegetation. Afterwards, we enjoyed a delicious lunch cooked by abuela. This is a family-owned business and much less touristy/commercial than the other tour companies. We highly recommend!
I did the El Salto Waterfall Adventure Tour in Caguas. It was fantastic! The guides (Elli (unsure if proper spelling), Jorge, and Sam) were very knowledgeable about the area and especially about climbing safety. I felt safe the whole time. Elli and Jorge spoke fluent English as well, which made everything easier. The waterfalls and views were beautiful, and the climb was a good workout but not excessively difficult. Rapelling was tough to learn quickly but they teach you what you need and have a safety line in place as a secure backup. I’d recommend bringing a bottle of water with you unless you’re ok to drink some water from the waterfall like I did.
They were always happy to take pictures or videos of the guests too! The lunch at the end, which was included, was delicious and was cooked by Elli’s grandmother. It was simple and authentic and so good - especially the flan!! Plus, her friendly dog, Pepa, joined us throughout the excursion, finding us all on her own!
This is an absolute must-do in Puerto Rico! Plan your trip around it (they’re closed Sundays and Mondays). It was my first time rappelling—with zero experience—and it instantly became a bucket list-worthy adventure.
From hiking through rivers to rappelling down an 80-foot waterfall, the experience is exactly as described and truly unforgettable. The guides—Sammy, Patricia, and Diego—were exceptional. They ensured everyone felt safe, moved at their own pace, and had fun while tackling every part of the journey.
If you’re even thinking about it—just book it. You won’t regret it.
And the food was goooooood , As authentic as it can get.
This was undoubtedly one of the best tours I've experienced in Puerto Rico. As a local who used to live here, I'm often familiar with many activities, but this one was truly unique. Diego, Misael, and Andrea were exceptional tour guides. They ensured our safety and demonstrated great expertise throughout the entire experience.
This tour wasn't just about sightseeing; it was an immersive dive into Puerto Rican culture. The hike provided the perfect adventure, and the stunning waterfall where we rappelled was unlike anything else in PR. I felt like I was part of something special.
I would eagerly do it all over again, and I'll definitely be recommending it to my friends and family. This tour is a must-do for anyone looking to truly connect with the island.
