As a new pet mom, I was drawn to Centro de Varona because of their beautiful space and the loving environment they promote on Instagram. The staff was gentle when I dropped off my healthy puppy (who is fully vaccinated, including Bordetella and DA2PP), so I felt I was leaving her in good hands. But sadly, her experience was very different.
I left her in their care for a 3-day stay, and when I picked her up, no one informed me that anything had gone wrong. Shortly after bringing her home, she began showing clear signs of illness — persistent coughing, sneezing, and fatigue. She was not her usual playful self, and I knew something had happened.
I rushed her to the vet, where she was diagnosed with a severe case of kennel cough. She required medication and care, and the illness lasted over two weeks. What upset me most was the lack of honest communication. I never received a report card, photos, or videos during her stay — all of which I expected through their client portal. Watching the live camera, I only saw her confined to her room, never outside playing or engaging as their social media had led me to believe.
Needless to say, I won’t be returning. I hope they take this as a constructive review and improve their communication and transparency moving forward.
Located just a stone's throw away from our home, this establishment greeted us with open arms, extending an especially warm welcome to Bob, our cherished pug dog. The venue's pet-friendly concept immediately won us over, creating an ambiance that was both inviting and innovative. The experience proved to be truly unparalleled; even Bob, who tends to be on the shy side, found his groove, mingling and enjoying the company of other dogs. The culinary offerings were nothing short of remarkable, each dish was well made, specialty the churrasco, to me was perfect. The highlight, however, was the sheer joy of sharing this wonderful dining experience with our beloved pet by our side. Rating this experience as a perfect 10 would be an understatement. We're eagerly looking forward to returning soon, particularly as we plan to celebrate Bob's birthday. It's our heartfelt wish to recreate the magic of that memorable day, ensuring Bob enjoys another splendid celebration in this exceptional setting. The place has two thumbs up as my son says.
My dog loves the place, people are very nice and the place has many areas for the dogs, including a dog swimming pool, prices are acceptable and many options to select.
Bad experience, lack of response, and loss of money
I decided to trust this center for my dog's training and daycare, but my experience was disappointing. From the beginning, the training did not meet my expectations, and for safety reasons, I decided not to leave my dog in daycare.
On my veterinarian’s recommendation, I decided to cancel the service on January 2 due to warnings about inadequate conditions at the daycare, including the presence of sick dogs, as well as dogs with bites and scratches. Although they offered to let me try the training in person, I became concerned and distrustful after an incident where my dog peed a little on the floor and was taken to another area without allowing me access. Additionally, I noticed that the facilities were not in optimal condition and had a peculiar smell.
On January 3, I contacted them to cancel the service before the agreed date. They informed me that I would receive a credit certificate and that they would call me back on January 6, but I never received a response.
The most frustrating part is that I lost $418, as they never granted me the promised credit or provided any solution. I feel scammed and disappointed by their lack of professionalism and commitment.
Also, beware of their app, as it is a trap. When you book a package, you automatically sign an agreement and lose your money with no option for a refund. Do not fall for it. They do not allow in-person reservations because that way they would lose money.
I have already lost my money, but I feel it is my duty to share my experience so others do not fall into the same situation.
I would not recommend this service to anyone looking for responsible and reliable care. If you are considering this center, think twice before trusting them with your money and your pet's safety.
