Scambrón Beach is such a beautiful spot. Beyond the gorgeous shoreline, it has hidden corners, unique places, and an incredible variety of animals, flora, and fauna you’d never expect to find. It feels both romantic and full of history, with old buildings that add to its charm. Truly a stunning and special beach.
My husband and I came here for a walk and to watch the sunset. We saw so many crabs hiding among the rocks and bushes. Unfortunately, due to personal reasons, I couldn’t swim, snorkel, or sunbathe — but many others were enjoying various activities, relaxing, and gathering to watch the sunset. There’s a parking fee, but it’s worth it. The landscape is unique and beautiful. I definitely recommend visiting this place.
It’s a cool beach to visit. I was there April 27th, 2025. There were tons of crabs on the rocks and in the brush (see pics). We only saw 1 big iguana (see pics). The distant view is Old San Juan is awesome! The swim beach is nice. There were some tiny fish in the swimming area (see video). I didn’t take pictures of the beach, but it is soft sand in that area. There were surfers taking advantage of the waves that day too. They were fun to watch! With the rocks, waves, and view, it’s a good place to put on your visit list!
Escambron Beach was a short Uber ride from Pier #4 cruise terminal in San Juan. Lovely beach cove with calm waters, snorkeling and the occasional crab saying hello. Easy in and out for a quick visit on a port day.

a month agoAbsolutely beautiful beach! Should be the first thing you visit in Puerto Rico. There are many fish in the water, especially near the rocks.
