Upon picking up a Hyundai Santa Fe I noticed that The vehicle was dusty and dirty on the outside to include the wheel wheels when I got in the vehicle the vehicle was all dusty on the inside as well when I started driving I did not turn on the AC at all. I wanted to feel the sun that heat from my land further down the road I turned on the AC and when I did, it smelled like old laundry that has been sitting inside the washing machine for days after it being wet further down the road up in the mountains going across Puerto Rico to the southside it started raining. When I turn on the wipers, the wipers were functioning, but the wiper blades were not meaning I could not see anything ahead of me. I had to stop on the side of the road on in the middle of a major Highway for about an hour to an hour and 15 minutes around there when I continued on by the time I started going downhill I started applying brakes to slow down and a whole vehicle started shaking, like if the rotors were warped But two days later, I had my mother and two of my cousins with me and when they got in, they said wow you just got here. You already went to the beach. I told him no I did not he asked me then. Why is there a sand back here when I look in between the thorough seat and the second row seat there was a bunch of sand On the floor. Overall, the experience in renting with Hertz this is my first time doing this. It was not a good experience at all wiper blades, being unsafe when it’s raining, especially you live in a tropical Island is a must. It’s a safety issue nasty cabin Air filter Dirty interiors and uncomfortable, breaking and dusty – and interior overall absolutely bad experience

This was my second time renting from Hertz, and it will definitely be my last. What started as a $490 reservation quickly ballooned to $729 due to unexpected fees and a full coverage charge I explicitly declined. To make matters worse, because I didn’t have a credit card—only two debit cards—the agent was unhelpful and even suggested I go elsewhere or rebook under someone else’s name.
But the real nightmare? The car was infested with roaches. I’m not exaggerating—every single time I got in, I was killing roaches crawling on the dash and console. Completely disgusting and unacceptable.
Do yourself a favor and avoid the stress and frustration. Rent from a company that values its customers and maintains its vehicles. Hertz has completely lost my business.
They are SCAMMERS!!! We rented a car yesterday and today it broke down in the middle of the highway. We had to wait THREE HOURS in the middle of the highway with our toddler daughter for someone to pick us up. When they did they left us stranded in the middle of a McDonald’s 3 HOURS AWAY FROM SAN JUAN. When we finally paid $50 for an Uber to get to the nearest rental place and didn’t get back to our hotel until midnight, I was able to charge my phone and see that hertz charged me SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS????!! There was no call or prior authorization given to Hertz for the $7k. I believe that they purposely gave us a faulty car in order for it to break down and charge us. Please DO NOT book here. I have been a gold member for years and am so sad to have this happen. I am going to file a police report for them fraudulently charging my card and reporting them. Absolutely unacceptable.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!! Horrible service and rude people. My contract was messed up from the beginning and I was given push back when I tried to fix it. They still messed it up, and when I contacted Hertz, they did not give me the plate pass they told me I had to contact the facility. I tried this and it was impossible to get through. When I brought the car back I brought it back with the amount of gas I received it at and they tried to charge me $40 to fill it up when it would not even be close to that amount! When I asked about getting help with the plate pass situation and wanted to file a complaint for my pickup, I was told I had to contact customer service (that girl was the ONLY nice person I talked to there). I have been back and forth with Hertz to find out that this place is a franchise and that they own not only Hertz but the other rentals as well. So, I have been back and forth with them as well now. They do not care about helping their customers. They will make any excuse not to give you credit/discount/refund that people deserve after this kind of experience. Reading the OTHER reviews, I 100% agree with them and I hope Hertz corporate end would do something to help their loyal customers. As well, you will NOT recieve any points on your loyalty account either because this Hertz is a FRANCHISE, even though you book it through your Hertz loyalty account, and you will not be able to search for the past rental either!

When I tried to get help, I asked to speak with the manager, Juan. Guess what? He was NEVER available. No accountability, no apology, no solution. Just excuses and being passed around while I was stuck with an infested car.
Hertz clearly has zero quality control and even less respect for their customers. I will never rent from them again, and I strongly warn others to stay far away unless you want to deal with filth and nonexistent customer service.
