I just want to start by saying if I was able to leave a negative star, I would leave -5 stars!!!! I travel often and only rent from National/Enterprise specifically for the cleanliness and customer service, along with the fact that it’s the preferred vendor for my company. After picking up the vehicle from the airport and starting our trip, it wasn't until the nighttime we had an issue. I have NEVER, NEVER had such a disgusting experienced as I did in Puerto Rico. I traveled with four other women, who are also seasoned travelers, none of us have ever experienced a cockroach INFESTED vehicle!!!! NOT ONCE, BUT TWICE!!!!! You read that right, TWO TIMES, TWO DIFFERENT VEHICLES, SAME TRIP!!!!! I have been to Puerto Rico multiple times and rented from National/Enterprise and NEVER had this issue before. When I say infested, I mean absolutely infested, whole cockroach families with uncles, cousins, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and baby mamas. Big ones, medium ones, small ones, baby ones, JUST HATCHED ONES, all of them!!!! Can you image the car drive?? Five women, in one roach infested mobile!!! The screaming, the freakouts, the ICK!!!!!! We ended up driving to the closet store open and buying roach traps to set in the vehicle overnight. WE HAD 4 TRAPS!!!! ALL OF THEM HAD COCKROACHES IN THE MORNING!!!!!
After I called customer service, they were great about switching the vehicle at the nearest location because the airport was an hour away. HOWEVER, when they show us the new vehicle it absolutely looked like someone's personal vehicle. The seats were dirty with stains, the steering wheel was peeled like someone was driving with their teeth, and other items left in the vehicle. My only concern was it being big enough for all our luggage, and of course NO ROACHES. Which we voiced to the manager, in which the response was "well this is the only vehicle without cockroaches". Naturally, the response from us was does this mean all your vehicles are infested??? Which of course we just got a dirty look instead of a response. After opening the trunk and ensuring the vehicle was big enough, we left.
Later that night, after dinner, of course the cockroaches came back out. THIS WAS ANOTHER VEHICLE. At this point now we are stuck driving this car it's the middle of the night and the next day we are completely booked with events starting at 8:30 am, we don't have the option to return or pick up somewhere else. So, we suck it up buttercup and go do the things we paid to do. The following day we are leaving and while I'm driving a roach decided to hang out on the rear-view mirror. I had pulled over immediately, I was afraid of the reaction from everyone else in the car that once they saw it, I'd end up in an accident. Have you after smashed a cockroach with a water bottle, 4 screaming women pulled over on the side of the road with the door open and one leg out of the car. I HAVE!!!!
We get to the airport to turn the car, and everyone is absolutely triggered when asked how was everything? Good? NO, NO IT WAS NOT GOOD!!! We have been grossed out, all weekend, itchy the entire car ride at just the thought of cockroaches crawling on our skin, or in our hair, it was not okay, NOT OKAY!!!!! So again -5 stars, every negative number you can think of that's the rating I would give!!!
Great service, the fact that you don’t have to deal with salesman at the counter it’s great!! great people when you return the car. Great cars to choose from. Definitely will rent again .
When we arrived. Had to go to 2nd floor a d then a gentleman directed to the area to get my car reservation. Once at the area, Another worker told me to pick any car on the row. This part was where I was confused since how do they know which vehicle i got. The cars were washed literally and clean. Picked small suv and went to booth to check out. Smooth process. The car didn't have GPS so used my phone. Return process was very professional. Each person was very friendly and nice. Thank you!!
Every time I rent a car with National they make me so happy because they’re professionalism of the people they have working for them to the starting point to the end. I have been renting cars from National for more than ten years I never had no problems with them or their cars or employees. Keep up a good work you guys doing thank you.
If I could give a 10 star they would have it. The customer service was impeccable. There was an issue with the vehicle I rented and had brought it back. They apologized, swapped out the vehicle and we had an awesome trip. Every single member of National at the airport was so hospitable and very kind when I told them about the issue. They were genuinely concerned and so helpful that I will only rent from them when I go back. The attention to detail they displayed was very reassuring on how much they care about what they do. Thank you team National at Puerto Rico Airport!
