    Do Not Choose Thrifty at the Airport Terminal – A Regretful Experience Unfortunately, my experience with Thrifty was disappointing from the very beginning. I’m from Puerto Rico and was visiting with a package that included a Frontier flight and a car rental through Thrifty. Upon arrival, the front desk agent was extremely rude—no greeting, no smile, just attitude. She asked for my credit card, but when she noticed it didn’t have my name printed on it, she rejected it without offering any alternative. She simply told my wife and me to go to a competitor, showing zero interest in helping us. We later returned to the counter and presented the same card, this time under my wife’s name. Only then did she accept it, allowing my wife to be added as a co-driver. Why didn’t she offer that option from the beginning? The lack of empathy was obvious. She also tried to sell us additional insurance even though we had already purchased coverage. Luckily, I was able to pull up the confirmation email and show proof, though it was clear she wasn’t pleased. The car’s exterior was dirty, and the interior hadn’t been wiped down. When we returned the car at 5 a.m., no one was there. I had to walk across the lot to ask another company for help, but got no results. After about 15 minutes, someone from Thrifty finally showed up and took the keys, without scanning the vehicle or checking the fuel level—which we had returned full. Overall, it was a terrible experience. I will never use Thrifty again, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. If you want to avoid hassle, go with Alamo or National instead.

    This place is the worst car rental I’ve ever seen. Hate that I had to add one date because it deserves none. Arrived here at 2am 15 people in line- one person at the counter. Waited 4 hours. This is unacceptable. I will never rent here again or recommend anyone. Also, cars are never ready, waited another 45 minutes after.

    I sincerely recommend using another car rental service. I had booked the rental car through Delta airlines and they reserved the car through Thrifty. When I got to the desk and began the process for picking up the car, the agent asked if I wanted two different insurance types. When I inquired as to what each of them meant/included, he repeated the names of them as if it was common knowledge and I should know in a rude tone. This is how all of my questions were answered. When it came time to pay, I said that I had thought I had already prepaid (in hindsight I was confusing this with the hotel reservation but was tired and just needed a second to check my email for the receipt to confirm that I had only reserved and not paid). The agent had responded, "well you can go ahead and check but I already know the answer is you didn't pay because we don't do that here." I felt more like an inconvenience in his day than a customer. After paying at the desk, I followed the instructions to the garage to pick up the car itself. At the garage desk, a female Thrifty employee sat playing with her nails for an extra minute before acknowledging me. When she did acknowledge me, she looked at the paper I was handed by the other employee and said, "he (the other employee) wrote 10 minutes on this, so You're going to wait 10 minutes." She held onto the paper and I proceeded to wait while she remained seated in the booth for 5-7 additional minutes. While I was waiting, two other people working for Thrifty came to see if I was being helped (the ONLY good part of my experience) but unfortunately, the female employee was holding onto my document/receipt so they couldn't help me. Eventually she went and got the rental car key and handed us a key for a car that was right next to the booth she was sitting in the whole time and then just pointed at the car. The whole experience was unnecessarily rude and I will not be using Thrifty again, and advise that others do not as well.

    Please don’t book a car with Thrifty, they gave me a roach infested car. I was shocked by the amount of roaches.

    It's okay, got the job done. We pre-booked our car ahead of time for $88.21 for 4 days, over the weekend. When we came in, the location was at the premises of the airport and nearby. A small walk. There wasn't much of a line. I went through the information to verify accuracy. I mentioned my insurance was through my credit card and the lady informed me I have to purchase their liability because credit card doesn't insure that. When I pushed back on purchasing it, she said I can provide my main insurance company, which does cover rental cars. I did and didn't pay the liability. I added tolls and got the paperwork. Surprise surprise, she also added road side assistance for $5 a day, which I decline. She never informed me she added it. We picked up the car. It's a bit of a walk to get it, but not excessive. The car had damage on the rear right, rear left, front right, and minor on the front left. Basically, all corners but worst on those specified corners. The car was definitely side swiped at some point. They took a whole video around the car at my request, and pointed out all the issues there. The suspension was going out on the front right side. I could hear it clunking whenever we turned, or went over a bump. The car was a red 2023 Nissan Versa. When we returned the car it was early in the morning. There was someone there, took less than 5 minutes and we were out. With tax and tolls the car ended up ~$123. They could've been a higher rating of they didn't try to add additional fees thar we didn't ask for.
