We started off on the wrong foot with a fake ad on Instagram. It read “Clases de Pole a $5”, you would think it’s a $5 class right? Well no, you have to reserve a trial class for $25. The enrollment at the academy is $100, so basically after the trial class (if you enjoyed it) you enroll at the academy for $75. Only then you get 20 classes for a total of “$75” which makes each class $5, confusing and misleading right? Somehow I still decided to go since the reviews for the academy made the overall review 5 ⭐️.
Once I arrived at the location, I went up the stairs and stumbled upon a salsa class. I was extremely confused and so was my friend. So we called the number and the instructor said we were at the right place and that we can come in. Again, we don’t know anything about this place. So we went into the salsa class and turns out the pole studio was inside another studio. We opened the door and we were received by the instructor and the other students. The instructor said “Es divertido ver como las nuevas siempre se confunden y se quedan mirando la puerta pensando si están en el lugar correcto o no.” I found this comment a bit unprofessional because you just cost me 10 minutes less (it’s a 1hr class by the way). Something that I didn’t like at all was the fact that we didn’t stretch before or after the class. Someone could have gotten hurt for not stretching. Anyways, the class didn’t feel like a class. It felt more like I rented a pole for $25, I was given a few pointers and then I got to do whatever I wanted. The class is something you can literally search up on YouTube and it would probably be better. Don’t get me wrong, the instructor is a great pole dancer just not a good teacher for me specifically. I would rather spend $25-$35 for a class of 1hr and 15 minutes at Las Libertas School or Tropik Pole.
All in all, it was a pleasant experience. The facility and the facilities are everything; I have no complaints. Furthermore, the staff made me feel welcome, not only me, but my children as well. We enjoyed the Self-Defense class, and I hope to attend more.
