This was by far the best experience I had in PR. Our tour guide was The owner of the Hacienda and he was AMAZING. The environment, the horses; it felt very local. If you’re looking for good horseback riding experience that doesn’t feel touristy this is the place for you.
Husband’s first time horseback riding and it was lovely. There was just the two of us and the owner of the property giving a tour of the ranch. What a beautiful view of the mountains and an easy ride for a novice and a beginner. We went on a Friday at 11am. Booking on the ranches website was easy.
This is also a boarding stable so many horse owners are caring for and riding their personal horses.
The trail horses are smaller than the boarded horses, gentle creatures that aren’t over worked, clearly cared for. The stables and event spaces are elegant and smart. I look forward to returning to see the continued progress of the rebuilding of this fourth generation family owned ranch.
Did horse riding last week and 100% recommended. Highlight of our trip. Great people, nature, horses. Really worth it. 10/10 experience and a must do in Puerto Rico!!
Fantastic experience!
Put on the GPS Hacienda 8A and don’t use iPhone maps. Stick with Waze or Google. Ride was about 43m from Loquillo and smooth. Once you enter the farm, hidden to the right of the main area, up a hill is a blue house. Drive up there to sign in.
The horses are in great condition and treated very well; like family memebers. They all have their own personalities so be thoughtful and listen to the host. We had 3 host. Each was amazing. Juan provided a lot of history of the land, the island, plants, trees etc. He knows his stuff.
It was a beautiful time. It did feel like a big family. We gave a cash tip just bc we were so happy.
Have fun!!
We had a very nice time, and they took care of my Granddaughter Unique. At first she was afraid, but she came back riding alone. 👏👏👏
The staff was friendly and polite. The place felt like home.
