My newborn son, just three months old, suddenly became very ill—he was coughing uncontrollably and vomiting, clearly in distress. Deeply concerned, we rushed him to the emergency department in pediatrics, hoping for immediate medical attention.
Upon arrival, we checked in and explained the urgency of his condition. Despite his young age and visible symptoms, we were left waiting in the emergency room for three hours. During that time, he continued to cough and vomit, and we grew increasingly anxious.
When we finally approached the staff again, desperate for answers, we were informed that we would need to wait an additional three hours because no doctors were available to see him. We were shocked and heartbroken to hear this, especially in a facility meant to provide urgent care to the most vulnerable patients.
It was an incredibly distressing experience—watching our infant suffer while feeling helpless and unsupported in a place we turned to for care.
Busy hospital but the wait wasn't too long. Everyone was very nice and accommodating even though I could only speak some Spanish. There were two males who were helping us throughout the day, continuously checking in and making sure things got done for us - true lifesavers! Thank you to all the healthcare workers here working hard every day to take care of people, you are very appreciated!
PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVED ONES HERE. I truly believe if you have an actual emergency here you would die. I took my younger sister here who was in extreme pain with side pain and extreme nausea. We were there for 7 hours and we seen the nurse twice and that was only when she came in to give meds, the second dose of meds were only given because I demanded they give her something else because the first dose was not helping her. The medicine they did give they didn’t bother to even tell us what it was or what it was for… after the second dose of medicine my sister was acting out of it and she looked very pale and was talking out of her head I went out to ask a nurse for help and I was told she would get the doctor…. No one ever came. There is not a nurse in sight it’s a ghost town and they do not check on you or care for you at all, if I was not there with my 19 year old sister they would have left her all alone and to fiend for herself. After 7 hours of pure misery for my sister it ended with me taking her IV out myself and us walking out and leaving the hospital. The nurses I did see were sitting at the nurses station on their phone. When i would ask for help they would act annoyed as if it was a inconvenience to them. On top of the terrible hospitality the hospital is very dirty. If you don’t speak any Spanish they ignore you and don’t try to help at all. This place is a disgrace and so is anyone who works there, your job in healthcare is to help people and it’s truly sickening they just sit around and have no sense of urgency or compassion to help their patients. This place needs shut down. DO NOT GO HERE !!!!
Admission is o.k.. Payment is fast. Was told a private room could be payed in 3 installments. After surgery, checked her status. Was being sent to a regular room. (Surgery was for my wife). Went back to admission. Dept., and had to pay full amount for private room. 1 lie. I checked the room, side table was broken. Call button cable clip, broken. Food from Tha previous patient was on the table. Television wasn't available, til next day. Admissions told me it would be. Another lie. No personal was at the desk. Not, bilingual!! One RN was. The first floor had a plus. A small museum. Tight security at night, only! The waiting process. Patients having surgery, their loved ones must the check in, The woman u are with, is not even medical, a lay person. Around 11am, She takes a 2 hour lunch break. Leaving the unattended desk. The monitor shut down leaving you to wonder. Check your cell, for messages, that's all. Sad. The second shift woman is bilingual, polite, goes out of her way to help you out.She goes above and beyond!. Lost her name, but she will be attending Grad. school. The other people in waiting, all praised her🙏
If you want to die this place is for you! Wow, level of care 0 and on top of it all the doctor we worked with was super racist against non-puerto ricans. Staff was otherwise nice, but if you want actual care go to Centro Médico de Puerto Rico, avoid this place at all cost. Do us all a favor dynamite it and make some beach front condos.
