It’s outdated, doctor was not friendly! No sense of urgency. I came with my mom, a female doctor assisted however doc ignored me then she ask my mom to urinate in a cup to have her walk around with it and not have a nurse take it to the lab…. Security is a joke. Only one older lady with short hair was very empathetic with my mom situation.
Looking from the outside in this doctor do NOT enjoy her job, she’s literally there for a paycheck. And it’s sad. Regardless of her mental stance the more friendly you are the more patient are willing to open up! The transaction wasn’t pleasant, hospital is rundown , in admissions the clerk had to redo the paperwork twice for typing wrong info just a shit show. Puerto Rico should have the best urgent/ medical/ emergency care system. Most doctors come here to learn and yet it’s disappointing to encounter such professionalism… the demographic of patients are older people which should be like treating a child, being friendly, receptive, accommodating not being dismissive which is rude.
Was impressed with how fast I was taken care of at the emergency room. Everyone very nice and kind. But the room I was given for my 3 day stay was disgusting. Floors were extremely dirty, bathroom was gross, you could tell it hasn't been mopped in weeks. The lady that came to "clean the bathroom " only cleaned the toilet seat, the mirror and took the garbage. No sweeping or mopping whatsoever. I am so glad I was out of the fairly quick. People on the bad next to mine were loud as hell, and NOBODY did something about it. One guy stayed with his dad overnight and was talikng loud on his phone most of the night, no consideration at all. Kept the light on too all night. I couldn't sleep for a minute all night. Nurses and Doctors were nice but the cleanliness in this hospital needs to improve a LOT !
Went to ER and I like that I didn’t wait more than 30 min to be taken inside also the security guard was very friendly and helpful. However, I feel the nursing staff need some training in how to talk to patients. After been poke 25 times ( I am hard stick but there were other ways and options), I left to another hospital and treatment is so much better here.
Sadly, I've visited the Pediatric ER multiple times, and the experience is consistently negative. The last time, we spent twelve hours there while my child underwent various tests repeatedly. The results took an incredibly long time, and he we where waiting in the lobby area because thanks God, a serum, bed neither meds were needed. It was just hours of testing and waiting. There was only one pediatrician on duty, and the nurses seemed indifferent.
ER Front desk employees and nurses are very rude and unprofessional. They act like they hate their lives and jobs. No sense of urgency and absolutely no basic customer relations training or so it seems. “Best hospital in PR” yeah…okay. Almost 2 hours waiting in the lobby with someone with symptoms of jaundice.
