I absolutely love this place. Spent our honeymoon here and loved it. The only reason I give it 4 stars because the ferry to polomina island (which is gorgeous too, and the ferry ride is awesome) does not have a schedule. Our last day there we went to the island and waited to leave the island and hour and a half. Because of this we didn't get to enjoy the pool or more of the beach because we just spent time waiting in the ferry line. Also would have rented jet skis if it didn't have to be guided. I have a boating license and a boat at home, I understand liability but would have signed a waiver of some sort. The service everyone was spectacular, the room was amazing, and the bed was comfy.
One of our all-time favorite places to visit.
From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel like royalty. The valet and front counter team were especially incredible—so professional, warm, and genuinely proud of the resort. You could tell they love where they work. Many even shared stories about movies and events filmed there, and it’s clear they treat the property like home—and treat guests like family.
The location itself is stunning, with unbeatable views and that unique charm you only find in Puerto Rico. The private island is a dream, and the waterpark was absolutely perfect for our young family. The food? Delicious. The cocktails? Fantastic.
We’ve stayed on other islands and in other countries, but there’s something really special about the people and culture in Puerto Rico. Everyone is just so kind and welcoming.
We’ll absolutely be back. Five stars all the way!
Wow! Super resort. Very family friendly and tons of activities. The food was very good but the service from concierge to housekeeping were above expectations. What great people. So friendly and welcoming. This resort is huge. I had no idea when I booked it. I was just looking for something with a beach. These guys have their own island! They have a super fun water park, car rental on site, spa and countless places to eat and have a good time. My only complaint is that the bed was super firm and I ended up aggravating my sciatica otherwise, this is a top notch resort. Thank you for a wonderful time!
I’d definitely rebook at El conquistador! The resort and views are BEAUTIFUL!!! The vibes of the resort are amazing. My children enjoyed the water park, not crowded at all. They were able to go on the slides with no wait. Lazy river with nice views. The private island/beach was the best part, such a breathtaking taking beach. Our family enjoyed a wonderful beach day.
Plenty of restaurants, small food items, and drinks to choose from with great service and good taste. Majority of the staff were very kind and welcoming.
Overall I loved how it wasn’t crowded at all during our stay, it felt peaceful and relaxing the whole stay. We were in PR for a week and only stayed here for half the trip (because they were booked), I wish we could have stayed there the whole time. The difference between the other hotel are night and day. Definitely prefer el conquistador over the caribe Hilton!
My only complaint is that the shower in my room (The marina) wouldn’t get hot, the water was warm but I like HOT showers.
Also the restaurants were a little on the pricey side but the food and drinks were good!
It looked nice, but the impracticalities of this hotel were not worth it. There was no hot water in the shower, the wifi was down more often than not, and our neighbors screamed and woke us up every night they were there. We called the front desk and told them we had no hot water and they said “are you in the Marina? Yeah, we hear that a lot.” They said the hot water could not be fixed. We called about our neighbors screaming three nights in a row and they sent security 1/3 times. They said we had to pay $200/night extra to change rooms to get away from them. We declined to do that, so they offered a $65/day resort fee credit, which we accepted, but then they didn’t give it to us at check out and we had to remind them.
The food was overpriced as you might expect, but also poor quality. I definitely recommend walking down the beach to some of the local restaurants instead.
Of note, it took 20 minutes to get from the parking lot to the room.
The water park and lobby was nice, but not enough to make up for the deficiencies.
