DO NOT stay here. First off? There are stray dogs throughout which is fine but look closely and they got ticks. Go to the pool, there’s dog poop around. It’s filthy. Oh and if there’s a power problem? Get ready for no air conditioning, no way to open a window, and no water! Plus the attitude was insulting, I booked two nights, and with two little kids just didn’t feel comfortable staying the second night. They couldn’t process anything because of course no electricity, no system. And now my booking agent can’t contact them to process a refund! What a SCAM! Save yourself the drama and go to the big hotel next door which should have some backup power plan…
This is a motel, completely walled in with no view of the very nearby ocean at all. It is located inside an old abandoned water park. The only view is of the back of the water park arena/grandstands. We were the only people there. It is the perfect setting for a horror film.
To be clear, the room was clean, the bed was fine (no bugs), our shower and TV worked well. There is beach access but by car, not much for walking.
The hotel has an excellent location but I find it expensive for what it offers. It needs a lot of TLC and has no direct or close access to the beach. The bed is very good. Everything is clean in the room. However when I stayed there was no hot water available for bathing. They also don't have wifi available and the tv's only work with the wifi which they don't have. They also do not have a refrigerator available in the room, I think it is a flaw. The electrical outlets are visible and even unused wires fall from the ceiling. The green areas need maintenance. The pool needed 1' of water. There is no visible availability of what the bar area offers. Cracked sidewalks. Parking is not properly marked and there is no signage on the road to the hotel. I think it has a lot of potential but needs investment.
Budget friendly hotel. Everything was fine. A little peeling paint here, our light over mirror burner out, nothing scary.
The crazy thing is the whole vibe. Once upon a time, there was a water park here. The remains can be seen when you pull off the highway. You get to the hotel by going under a little bridge thing and through the old entrance. At the parks hayday, this was probably a great place to stay. But 20 or more years later, it's a ghost town. There's supposedly beach access, but you have to drive around the ruins, part of which is not a mech college. The pool, the hanging chairs, all the things in the pic are there. But they don't look like they've been used much in the last dozen years.
I felt sad staying here.
Disappointing Experience – Won’t Be Returning
The place definitely needs an upgrade. The room was very humid, and the bathroom had mold under the toilet. To make things worse, there was no hot water for six days. Overall, not a pleasant stay—this will be my last staycation here.
