We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Rio Mar Resort in Puerto Rico, and I can confidently say it was one of the best experiences I've ever had. From the moment we arrived, the beauty and cleanliness of the resort were apparent. Every corner seemed meticulously cared for, creating a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere perfect for families.
What truly set this resort apart was the extraordinary staff. Magda Williams and her team at Roots went above and beyond to ensure our dining experiences were not only enjoyable but also memorable. They made our son feel like a little celebrity, showering him with attention and kindness that left a lasting impression on our entire family.
Additionally, the pool staff were exceptional, always attentive and eager to assist, enhancing our time by the pool. Having traveled extensively, I can honestly say that the level of service at Rio Mar far exceeds many other resorts I've visited.
If you’re looking for a beautiful, family-friendly destination with outstanding hospitality, look no further than Rio Mar Resort. This place has set a high bar that we will remember for years to come!
Peaceful Nature Getaway with Excellent Food & Service
This resort is a breathtaking escape from city life. Perfectly nestled in nature with stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere. The food and drink options were fantastic, especially at the bar where everything we tried was good. The staff were all friendly, attentive, and made the experience even more enjoyable.
While the resort is currently undergoing renovations (which meant a few areas were temporarily closed), the overall property is clean and well-maintained. The room was comfortable, though some updates like better humidity control would improve the stay even more.
Note that this is not an all-inclusive resort, and breakfast is not included. However, the buffet breakfast is worth trying. Priced between $19–$34 per person depending on your package, with a great variety and delicious quality.
For those wanting to explore local cuisine, there's a market area just a 5–10 minute drive away with excellent food options.
Overall, this is a wonderful spot for a relaxing vacation surrounded by nature. I would absolutely recommend it for anyone looking to unwind in a beautiful setting with great service and food.
Stayed for my birthday to GET AWAY for (2) days…….. this is what happened
I had an amazing stay at the Wyndham Grand Rio Mar! The resort was incredibly clean and well-maintained from top to bottom. The rooms were spotless, the grounds were beautifully kept, and the overall vibe was just perfect for a relaxing getaway.
The service by the pool was a little slow, but honestly, that’s pretty typical in Puerto Rico—no rush, just island time. Aside from that, everything else was perfect. The staff was friendly, the beach was stunning, and the amenities were top-notch. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!
From the day we checked in to the day we left, the staff at Wyndham Grand Rio Mar were exceptional. Everyone was friendly and helpful, making our stay truly memorable. The breakfast service stood out in particular, delicious food, prompt service, and a welcoming atmosphere every morning. A special thank you to Carlos, Melissa, and Judy at the breakfast bar, you made our mornings brighter with your kindness and attentiveness. The complimentary champagne to celebrate our anniversary was such a thoughtful touch and made us feel truly appreciated. The property itself is beautiful and well-maintained, perfect for a relaxing getaway. We’re already looking forward to coming back!
The entire place is absolutely stunning. The meals are all phenomenal. While sitting at any one of the three pools, the staff comes to serve you so you don't need to worry about heading back and forth to the bar. We had amazing service from Angel and Carlos at the Tiki bar when we wanted to get out of the sun and eat lunch but also had great service from Alfredo when we wanted to lounge by the pool and take it easy. Everyone was very helpful.
Iguanas is the best of the restaurants, but they are all amazing. The variety available for vegetarians is also fantastic. The breakfast buffet is on the expensive side but everything is delicious there. Unfortunately, we had very, very terrible service by a woman named Maria on our second day so we didn't bother returning and just grabbed breakfast at the to go counter.
I also cannot comment on the rooms as it would not be fair to the resort because we were not placed in an updated room.
If you are looking for a luxury resort this is certainly a great place to consider.
