I've been in Puerto Rico. This is september twelve, returning back to Florida tomorrow
Beautiful island beautiful culture, beautiful people, great food. However, 2 things that really concern me is the so many potholes on the roads not being attended to
The potential of someone becoming a fatality, because of the potholes,
I discovered this absolute gem after my GPS directed me outside the city walls to La Fortaleza! I found Bethzaida, who was the most incredible ambassador to PR! She not only personally helped me get an inside tour of Fortalaza, she told me about the oldest jail in San Juan in their courtyard and let me wander their halls to see their exhibits. Then she found out I was visiting other cities in PR and she followed up sending me emails about those areas! She was incredibly knowledgeable, helpful and genuinely excited to share about this beautiful area!
My family and myself had flown into and out of the San Juan airport for the first time. The airport was brightly lit and the signage adequate. Yes, there were many people especially at the airport because of the time of year and the lines were pretty long. Perhaps if they were better organized, they could have moved at a better pace. So yes h the wait was a little too long especially going through security, which is true at most airports unfortunately. Yet overall my experience on this vacation spot, was unique and truly amazing in lots of ways, we were able to discover Puerto Rico and view it, from the vantage point as seen through the locals eyes. We had a robust full sightseeing agenda planned, and if we planned to see lots of locations, we had to ensure we remained super organized. So yes everyhing was well planned in advance. We visited caves, waterfalls, local restaurants,ad well as those located a distance from our hotel. The choices were plentiful and overall they all served delicious and cheap food. Now of course we visited the Old San Juan area, the food wasn’t the only draw. A lot of the eateries featured wonderful cocktails that were very tasty, and the ambiance of the restaurants which we visited were a perfect mix of island life and city life, just like San Juan itself
We went to Culebra and my son had purchased round trip ferry tickets. Unfortunately due to his cell that got wet his phone stopped working. The guy working there walked away from me while I was still talking. No mannerism as the other staff who just stared at us from a distance. We ended up waiting. This placed lacked being informative and needs a visible supervisor.
