It strikes a perfect balance between fine dining and tropical warmth. The entry way is just absolutely stunning with a Caribbean italian charm. The food was excellent — fresh, flavorful, and well-portioned. The pasta dishes were outstanding, and everything from the appetizers to dessert felt carefully prepared. Service was attentive without being overbearing. A great choice if you’re looking for elevated Italian cuisine in a calm, elegant setting. Highly recommended.

I had the pleasure of celebrating my birthday at Sotovento in Isla Verde, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was warm and welcoming, setting the perfect tone for a special evening. The highlight, of course, was the food. As an Italian restaurant that makes their own pasta in-house, Sotovento absolutely delivers. The pasta was perfectly al dente—exactly how it should be—and every dish was bursting with the flavor of fresh, high-quality ingredients. You can truly taste the care that goes into each plate. The cocktails were also impressive—beautifully crafted and well worth the wait. And the service? Top-notch. The staff was incredibly attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was just right throughout the night. Whether you're a local or just visiting, Sotovento is a must-visit gem in Isla Verde. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate. Looking forward to returning soon!

Up scale Italian restaurant. Friendly staff, especial thanks to Chris, and great tasting food. My husband and I stayed at Royal Sonesta for 3 nights and Sottovento Ristorante is our favorite! Great halibut dish and filet mignon that was made to perfection. We dined here twice during our stay and it’s now my favorite place to eat on the island! Highly recommend it!

The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, offering recommendations and ensuring we felt well taken care of throughout the meal. The menu, featuring a variety of Italian specialties didn’t disappoint. The pasta was fresh and perfectly cooked, with the seafood risotto standing out as a true highlight—rich, flavorful, and brimming with tender shrimp and scallops. Sottovento delivers a fantastic balance of high-quality ingredients and friendly service, making it a must-visit spot for anyone in the area looking for a delicious Italian meal. Whether for a casual dinner or a special occasion, this restaurant delivers on all fronts. I wish I would have taken a picture of my favorite dish Pappardelle with Southern Ragú.

Stephanie was absolutely amazing and made our experience incredibly positive! Every dish was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. We would highly recommend and will definitely be back the next time we’re in Puerto Rico!
