My sister and I took the 9:30pm kayak tour to the bioluminescent bay, and it was an absolutely magical experience! Our guide, Isakyel, was incredible—super friendly, full of great energy, and really knowledgeable. He shared interesting facts about the bay and the bioluminescence, and I especially loved when he pointed out different constellations in the night sky. It added such a special touch to the experience. The water was so bright that night—it felt like paddling through stardust. Truly unforgettable. Highly recommend this tour, and if you get Isakyel as your guide, you're in for a treat!
We had an absolutely magical experience on a 9pm bioluminescent bay tour with Giovanni. The clear bottom kayaks were a must and let us see all the bioluminescence beneath our feet! Giovanni was a hilarious and educational guide. We took the bus to the kayak spot where we launched into completely calm waters, letting us explore the bay easily. So glad we went.
We had an amazing time touring the bio bay with Ezekiel! The bus ride out is pretty wild through the rocky terrain but we made it and had a blast. Super peaceful night and we lucked out that there was a good breeze so we didn't even get eaten alive by mosquitos. No light pollution out there so you can see the stars and constellations too. Plus the Bioluminescence is of course amazingly beautiful. The pictures won't do it justice and to the naked eye this particular bioluminescence looks more like a white light but you have to go see it fo yourselves its totally worth it! Don't forget to look at the bottom of the kayak while you are moving it will feel like youre entering hyperspace!
Awesome Bio-bay tour from a local outfitter. Our guide had a wealth of knowledge that was a perfect blend of biology, history, kayakcraft and... humor. Highlight of the trip was the fact that they didn't just "paddle us out to splash around": we all locked up at one point and got under a tarp to truly see the bioluminescent plankton despite the quarter moon being out.
If your visit doesn't line up with super dark nights, and you enjoy a truly rustic experience out on the water, do it with these guys.
Absolutely Amazing!! Book your adventure with Taino Aqua now! They are fun and it’s a local business. Our guide Jovanny took us out to see the bioluminescent bay and it was nothing short of spectacular. There are simply no words to describe the majestic beauty of the stars from above and the brilliant beauty of the Dinophyta below while you kayak in the bay during the night. Jovanny was extremely knowledgeable about constellations and the aquatic organisms so it also felt like a hands on science class. It was also so much fun driving up from our meeting point to the kayak site. Our driver had us rolling with laughter taking about chupacapras in what could easily be a pretty scary experience. We highly recommend any adventure with this company; you are guaranteed a memorable experience!
