I visited the park during the posted operating hours, but the entrance gate was closed with no attendant present. The park should be open and accessible to visitors during the advertised hours of operation.
This park is really awesome. It is a great way to hike the rainforest without actually hiking. There is a new addition of a kids play area & tree house. My kids had so much fun playing here. Call ahead for reservations.
History: 1960s, this area was used as a housing area for the US Navy, with roads, sidewalks, and concrete houses. By the end of the 1970s, the buildings were demolished and the housing development was abandoned. Roads are still there but building structures are piles of broken brick covered in vegetation.

7 years agoIt is a peaceful place in the middle of an urban area. Hurricanes Irma and Maria hit it hard. Hope to see it's 🌲 🌲 🌲 trees green again soon.
