The restaurant is Cuban and Puerto Rican. Monday night's special is ropas viejas.
We ordered the paella and the ossobuco (veal).
Very nice server, Antonio, who explained things to us.
The paella was tasteful but the ossobuco was VERY delicious. The meat falls off the bone easily and the sauce is just thoroughly delicious. I think it's red wine based, from the flavor... 🥇
We came from San Juan to try this place. Best we've had so far on our PR trip. Grateful for the experience.
For dessert, try the tres leches pistachio. It won't disappoint. ❤️
Marcelos never disappoints! Yesss this place is 🔥🔥🔥! I have been here more times than I could count and I have never had a bad meal here. Every time, every meal has been perfection. Seriously... Is not just me. Every person I have ever taken here loves the food. One of the rare places in Puerto Rico that I can get ropa vieja. And real ropa vieja with all yummy savory goodness! If you haven't been here, you are certainly missing out. They don't take reservations. It's first come, first serve and there can be a wait but trust me it's worth it.
We came to Marcelo's after the sweet lady from our hotel gave us the recommendation. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The place was lovely. The food was absolutely amazing. Our kids couldn't say enough about how delicious the food was. If you are traveling to Puerto Rico, Marcelo's is a must!
Ordered churrasco with papa fritas and lobster Risotto. The steak was close to perfect but the French fries were soggy with grease. Risotto was unfortunately overcooked and overly greasy with lobster that was also overcooked. Edible with flavor just not the kind of Risotto one expects for the price.
This is the place you've been looking for. Great food, great service, competitive prices.
I visited this restaurant with ten other adults and two children on a Friday, for lunch. Everyone was satisfied with their meals as well as the service.
I highly recommend this restaurant.
