The Bacardi Distillery in Puerto Rico is located in Cataño, just across the bay from Old San Juan. It’s known as the world’s largest premium rum distillery and has a rich history dating back to 1862 when Don Facundo Bacardí Massó founded it. The distillery offers guided tours where visitors can learn about the rum-making process, Bacardi’s history, and enjoy tastings of their various rums.

During the tour, visitors typically explore the fermentation and distillation processes, learn about the aging of rum in oak barrels, and see the iconic Bacardi bat logo displayed throughout the facility. The tour often concludes with a visit to the on-site gift shop where guests can purchase Bacardi products and souvenirs.

The Bacardi Distillery is not only a popular tourist attraction but also an important part of Puerto Rico’s cultural and economic heritage, showcasing the island’s connection to the world of rum production.

A visit to Puerto Rico cannot be completed without a visit to Casa Bacardi. This historic location has a lot to offer. We booked the rum tasting tour, this includes a complimentary drink upon arrival, a driving tour of the compound and a rum tasting class. The rum tasting includes 6 different types of Bacardi along with detailed descriptions of each by the tour guide. There is a gift shop to purchase items at the end of the tour. Be sure to try the rum chocolates

Booked the rum tasting tour. Had a fun time. You're gifted a free drink upon arrival. Then four Bacardi samples during the tour. They do have food options available for those that don't want to drink on an empty stomach. Tour was a bit brief. More so than anticipated. However, our tour guide Danny made it very entertaining, informative, and worth while. There is a nice little gift shop at the end of the tour. Be sure to arrive early as you will be traveling with traffic. Also, bring paper towels or a cloth due to everything being outside(bars, check-in, & waiting area) until the tour starts. The heat will have you sweating for days. Other than that, a nice little tour/tasting

This tour was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish! It kicked off with a refreshing and delicious Bacardi cocktail that set the tone perfectly. From there, we embarked on an informative journey that delved into the fascinating history of the company. We learned about its early days, political connections, and the evolution of its distilling process, all of which helped shape Bacardi into the iconic brand it is today. Our guide, Will, was incredible! He was not only knowledgeable but also fun, engaging, and passionate about the subject. His enthusiasm made the experience even more enjoyable. The depth of his insights and his ability to make the tour both educational and entertaining were truly impressive. I cannot recommend this tour enough! Whether you're a Bacardi enthusiast or just curious about the art of distilling, this is an experience not to be missed. Highly, highly recommend!

Casa Bacardí Review: Great Tour, But Overpriced Casa Bacardí offers a well-curated, engaging tour that immerses visitors in the rich history and craftsmanship behind one of the world's most iconic rum brands. The guided experience is polished and informative, with interactive exhibits, behind-the-scenes insights into rum production, and a chance to sample Bacardí's signature products. The mixology session, if included, adds a fun, hands-on element. However, the cost of the tour feels steep compared to similar distillery or brewery experiences. While the atmosphere and storytelling are top-notch, the price may leave some visitors feeling that the value doesn't quite match the expense. For those passionate about rum or brand history, it may still be worth it, but casual tourists might find it hard to justify the cost. Pros: Engaging, well-organized tour Informative guides and interactive elements Opportunity to sample premium Bacardí rums Cons: Relatively high ticket price Limited tastings unless you pay for an upgraded experience Overall Verdict: A memorable experience for rum enthusiasts, but casual visitors may find it overpriced for what’s included.
