A great hostel! Very hospitable, The breakfast is simple but very appreciated, waffles, cinnamon rolls, toasts, eggs, fresh fruit. The staff is all very nice, hammocks, lounge area, picnic tables, makes for a very social atmosphere between the residents. Even the upper bunks have a shelf and an outlet next to them where you can charge your device and store your stuff like water and cell phones. They have luggage storage and a day pass for when you check out which is very convenient. The location of this hostel is very close to the nightlife scene, you will probably hear the music through the windows, so remember ear plugs if that bothers you. But also, if you're a young Solo traveler, the proximity to The nightlife is appreciated as well as the 5 to 10 minute walk to the beach. I wish the hostel had beach chairs or snorkel to bring to the beach, that would be a nice touch.
Absolutely loved my stay at Mango Mansion! That's in large part to the amazing staff and fun, welcoming, social culture that they curate. There's always someone wanting a buddy to explore the island with and everyone genuinely learns your name in the first day or two.
The amenities were okay and the photos on the website are definitely a bit outdated but it all adds to the charm of this place! Definitely a great vibe for younger travelers in their 20s/early 30s who like to party 🥳
Special shout outs to Gaby, Maria, Brittney, Alex, and Tyrell!
I took my first ever solo trip to Puerto Rico and decided to stay at Mango Mansion. This was the best decision I could've made. Everybody was polite, the staff members were extremely helpful, and the place itself had a great social atmosphere. I got to meet a lot of cool people and hang out with multiple different groups. There was rarely a time I felt “alone”. Definitely a 10/10 experience.
What a great place to stay, especially for a solo female traveller!! Not only were the people amazing, but the rooms were clean, cold, and quiet. Above all, Alex the manager went above and beyond in every aspect of our stay, as long as the rest of the staff. If you want a social, kind, clean, beautiful hostel with two cute dogs, many great people, and occasional tours/events, this is the PERFECT place!! Would and will be staying again!
Highly recommend Mango Mansion to anyone visiting San Juan! Staff are very hospitable and knowledgeable as well. By far one of my favorite hostels I’ve stayed at. Walking distance to beaches, supermarket, and of course La Placita. Breakfast is included every morning with some freshly made waffles.
Shoutout to Maria, Tyrell, and Brittney for making my stay memorable!
