A year later I’m still fighting for a case of two different boxes of contact lenses since I have two different prescription I even have evidence of them when my mother turn them in but for some reason they never made it to my unit. I also have word from different nurses that they saw the boxes being transfer since I first got it from unit to unit until they disappeared for good. Their on supervisors and a management lady promise not to worry that they would replace them however a year later I’m still fighting for both boxes that cost 68$ each only receiving excuse after excuse. Their sad part is not only have evidence they where received my employees but also seen by supervisors who follow the protocol at the moment and somehow they still got lost. And that’s not the only item that’s the most expensive tho I have two other items also lost in translation
I recently sent my wife here for treatment. She was there and made friends with patients and some staff. I, however, have a few concerns. She spoke to me of the ill treatment that is given to elderly people by nurse staff. Stating that she would never send any older person here. Anybody who’s immobile, overweight, old are badly treated here. She told me that her and a few patients had to do jobs such as helping people to bed . The nurse should be doing because they’re the ones getting paid to do so but not only that, my wife was sent to better herself not to work. She said that the nurse supervisor & her case manager for A5 was very kind & so was Dr.Aguilar. Also Hector helped me get clothes to her but was rude to my wife later on. Night time (overnight) security guard was also very kind. Whenever I would call to get further information, I would get transferred and then hung up on constantly as if nobody wanted to work or just didn’t care to give real information. I do plan on getting in contact with the BBB to ensure the issues here are taken care of. No human deserves abuse. And yes, not taking proper care of patients is a form of abuse worse when it’s a targeted group
Well. Couple things. First the wait time is ridiculous. If you go in because of addiction you'll probably end up in B4 section which is pretty much very similar to a jail. Not prison. Jail. I went voluntarily and the doctor at the er said he would send me somewhere where I would fit well with the others and not to worry. Then he sends me to the worst cell they have, even considering I was there willingly and with private medical insurance.
I was so angry and about to ask to be released but they switched me to a much different unit. It wasn't that bad. After all it is a mental hospital in Puerto Rico. They are a bit understaffed and sometimes the nurses don't listen or ignore requests from the patients. Even a simple painkiller like ibuprofen was s hassle to get. All in all it's average.
I do not recommend taking a loved one here. The case worker contacted me a week ago stating she would call me back on Thursday and as of yet, she has called. When I try to call, no one answers and when they do they are extremely rude and do not transfer me to his case worker. Still no update of the status of my loved one and I am the one authorized to get information about him. I have been able to talk to my family member for five minutes each evening, however he sounds very groggy under the influence of pills.
A loved one was recently hospitalized there and it was not at all what we expected.
-arrived there in early afternoon and was not admitted until 5a the following day.
-called several times and left messages but no calls were returned.
-according with a couple employees they are extremely short staff.
-patient was kept medicated most of the time while admitted.
-psychiatrist saw the patient every other day and for less than 3 minutes.
-patient felt like an intermediary because of other patients felt abandoned and not listened to.
-Patient felt that was admitted with one mental trauma and came out with several ones.
