I used La Rosa Del Monte to move 30 boxes and my car from NYC To Puerto Rico.
I admit that after reading some of the reviews here that I was a little nervous, but I took my chances anyway.
Having said that I must say that I am extremely happy with the service.
1) Everybody, and I mean everybody, from the truck drivers in NY to the office staff in Yonkers to the office staff in Bayamon to the truck drivers in PR were top notch. Polite, answered every question, explained everything fully. I did not have a single bad feeling from the people. I believe those customers with bad experiences were probably jerks and rude to the workers. The staff could not have been nicer to me.
2) They told me 3 to 5 weeks for my boxes and I received them in exactly 4 weeks. Communication was excellent and the truck showed up perfectly on time to deliver here in PR.
3) My boxes do not look like they've been in a boat and handled by workers. Tape still on tight and boxes still strong and new feeling. Granted I have not yet unpacked but I do not expect any broken items due to the condition of the boxes.
Update next day: I unpacked and everything is perfect. Nothing broken or missing.
4) Every box I sent was fully accounted for. Nothing missing..
5) My car arrived safe and sound in the exact 8 weeks they told me. I would say that you need to call toa Baja office and speak to Melanie Morales ext 236 because she was excellent. One thing, and this has nothing to do with LRDM, but the tax dept in puerto rico are theives. They valued my 2006 honda crv at 10000 dollars when it it worth 3000. I got hit with a 1000 dollar tax bill. It's legal extortion and I am very pissed. But that is not the movers fault.
If you are on the fence due to bad reviews I get it. I was too, and I told them so when i first walked into their offices. But my experience was 100 percent top notch from start to finish. Use LRDM with confidence!
After more than 10 moves in the last 20+ years ( I used LRDM before) but this is by far has been the WORST move ever!!!!! Had approximately 50 boxes and multiple furniture items that departed US in perfect conditions. When they got delivered to my house in PR they looked like either the truck rolled over or they played soccer with the boxes. Almost all the boxes arrived damaged and lots of items broken. Also received various furniture items broken. Customer service is NON-EXISTENT. Is very interesting every time I call either the Orlando or Puerto Rico office they keep pointing fingers at each other saying is the others fault. My understanding this is a "Worldwide" company, not just a regional. Had been asking to speak with a "Manager" for the past months and first they gave me an email that came back "undeliverable", then gave me a number for supposedly a manager but when I called was just another employee that said "I'm just a worker here and can't do anything"... really???
Beware of their "Insurance" process. Nobody explained the insurance, just a last minute phone call when HHGs were ready to depart my house. They had the audacity to offer a $ dollar amount for all the broken items that won't even cover a 1/4 of the damages for just 1 of the items. I know lots of broken items that had invaluable meaning can't be salvageable, but I wish they accept what they did was wrong, but so far nobody wants to take responsibility. Very sorry but is hard to recommend this company with this type of service. Very DISAPPOINTED!!!!
After six weeks, I went to get my car [6/15/2025]. Lack of customer service. They looked at you like "We don't care just wait". DON'T call to get updates on your car, they don't pick up the phone or they block your number. The location is a warehouse on a very tight space. Again POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. (Las mujeres que trabajan en ese lugar se compirtan indiferentes-hablando de nada y no le importa (The workers talk about nothing and you are waiting) y no trabajando) Te dejan Esperando. NEVER AGAIN!!!
What a mistake. Horrible customer service. My furniture was picked up by a wonderful crew in Jacksonville FL, no problem there.
Getting anyone to give me a status of when they will deliver my furniture in Puerto Rico is a disaster. Their phone system puts you in a never ending loop that always begins and ends at the intro message, both with the English and Spanish options. When I can connect to a different department with the hopes that they will transfer me, my call reverts to the never ending loop.
It is a shame that something as stressful as a move is made more stressful by incompetence.
I’m intentionally taking the time to make a review here as I feel the online reviews available do not make justice to La Rosa del Monte. I just picked up the boxes I shipped through them and they were delivered in EXCELLENT condition. Not even a scratch. Every single person I personally know has talked great about their services but I was worried about what I saw online. I can’t speak for everyone else but my items were immaculate and they don’t look even a bit more worn than when I dropped them off. Please, if you pack your things securely trust whole heartedly in this company. If you don’t know how to pack things for overseas shipping don’t blame the company.
