The ride here was a bumpy one but totally worth our time. The beach is beautiful and we got there before other boats so we really did have the beach to ourselves. There is a shallow coral reef you can snorkel. There is also an old abandoned army tank left on the far side of the beach you can go explore.
THE Culebra Park which is most of Island is just beautiful, with beaches, views, even swamp lands.
CULERBRA has put up signs drawing attention to the Sea Turtles most are just in Spanish/ there are a few sentences in English.
We rented a gold cart and see the entire day driving around the island from land as we have been sailing from USA to Panama & on often only seeing what we can by boat, dinghy or walking.
Absolutely s must visit. The beaches are a must see. Do take the rent a jeep, do fly over (ferry is locals first and not guaranteed) and do spend a night as you'll find you need longer than a day. Happy get-a-away....
Culebra is amazing, purchased a tour on a boat, word of caution...ride is extremely bumpy and made me sea sick, take a life jacket since the boat docks away from actual beach and you'll have to swim to it. Other than that, the swim is worth it, good snorkeling available right off the beach, water is warm, perfect for swimming, clean and not crowded.
This is a cute little and the only airport in Culebra island mostly used to fly from Culebra to San Juan and Vieques. Most of the planes are 6-8 seater. Staff is friendly here and amenities are good. They have a clean toilet, drinking water and a coffee bar. Just 2 min walk from this airport is car rental shop. Also there is a big grocery store at 5 min drive.
