Short easy hike down to a cool secluded cove with a little beach. Pretty and shallow in spots. When I went, there was a lot of sea weed in most of the small bay, but there were still several clear patches to dip in and swim a bit. There was literally no one else there at 1pm on a Saturday. Parked on the side of the road 50 feet from the gate. Well worth the trip. Coffee shop close by Cafe Don Mario was great too 👌 bring your appetite!
This is top on my list of best beaches in PR. It's a short hike that can be a bit of a challenge on the last bit but it's completely worth it. This is a very sunny, rocky, and turbulent wavy beach. Be aware that the water may not be the easiest to swim in as the waves crash hard here. We were lucky to be there when there weren't many folks yet as it is a small beach and not very wide. Parking can also be very difficult. We parked about 10 minutes walking distance from the gate down the road and walked to to the entrance because the road the gate is on is very narrow and can be hard to get out of once you've gone all the way down. We saw a sign when we were leaving by a house charging $5 for playa parking so that might be a good investment if you can't find anything closer. All in all, we appreciate the beauty of it even though it's not the best to swim in.
I parked below on the highway; that was easier than parking up on the narrow road next to the entrance; short hike out to a harrowing secret route down to the ocean from the top of the point. Route to secluded beaches very narrow, youve got to be limber; but there was far too much seaweed to swim that day; its a nature hike more than a beach day.
I guess I did not explore as much as other reviewers. This was at the end of a small road. Keep going. Very private. No one around. Someone mentioned a tour guide but I just helped myself. I did not stay long enough as others pictures are more in depth showing the beach. Perhaps take the first trail to the right. Steep and muddy.
But just a wonderful quiet beautiful spot.
A beautiful place with about 4k of trails. There are really horses here like the name punta yeguas implies. A variety of interesting plants can be found and a lot of birds. The views are spectacular and this is the sole place from where can can see Carribean Sea and Atlantic. It has hidden beaches that can be reached by climbing down the steep cliffs. They are nearly empty.
