This is a beautiful place and the view is amazing. We took our family to see the cliffs and the view of the ocean. Really worth the trip. By the time we went the castle was open and we can visit it. It has miles of mangrove forest and the seabirds are beautiful. It's a must if you visit Lajas. Please bring water with you and sunblock, you will need it.
There are so many things to do and see here. You've got the lighthouse, many many cliffs on which to take beautiful pictures from, and of course... The beaches.
The most obvious is La Playuela, which you can see from the lighthouse and is the most beautiful beach I've ever seen. It's a very long beach, so there's plenty of space. On some days the water is calm and excellent for swimming, on others the waves can get pretty large. It was rough on the day we went there, but that didn't stop anyone from going it and enjoying themselves on the waves (just be careful close to shore because the cresting waves will knock you over.) I only regret not bringing a body board for those waves.
Parking is very limited so get here early. And if you absolutely love your car, just be warned. The dirt road into the park is terrible and littered with potholes.
Exploring the lighthouse and surrounding area, you will discover some of the most magnificent scenery you will ever see. There is the lighthouse, La Playuela (Playa Succia), and the Arch. This area is also a cool place to hike, picnic, or just chill and watch the sunset. You won't find a better place to do this.
Incredible views not just of a lighthouse, but of the rims to the water. Windy as it should be, clean and full of energy. Too bad the lighthouse was closed when I got there, but it seemed like a sure way to spend some good time.
It is a beautiful place to visit, but if a public place doesn't do the minimum of BEING OPEN in the established hours it's not open to everyone. Families with children or handicap persons can enjoy the Bosque Estatal de Boqueron. The walk is long and VERY HOT. Puerto Rico lo hace mejor.
