Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of San Juan

The service was not very good. The comunication between the doctors and the multidisciplinary staff it is not integrated. The family needs to be every day remembering the doctors treatment and actions to the nurse staff. In many occasions it is not done no matter the following actions. Some of the nurse staff are not following the rehabilitation plan. Looks like the multidisciplinary staff and the nurse staff do not comunicate at all. Furthermore the some of the occupational therapy staff do not are integrate with the nurse staff in the toilet trainning therapy. The nutrition provided it is very bad. Some days offers the same thing for lunch and dinner. The staff try to do their work but the food service do not permits them to offers swallow therapy because the food. In terms of the medicine specialties for consultation the institution do not have nephrology doctors. In my experience the patient do not start the therapies planned until 7 days after. The multidiscilpinary staff do not know how to the the transition of a bed riding patient because neurology procedure. After the day 7 after talking with the doctors and manage care personnel the therapies were completed and the patient start getting better. However the challenges with some of the nurse staff continue. In the other hand, the institution integrated pychological professionals by consultation and not as part of the multidisciplinary staff. In our experience the patient was expose to thier face changes without taking into account the psychologocal effects which affect their mood and strenght to going thru their therapies.

My 20 yr old son was admitted because of a serious car accident, which affected his mobility. His stay was approximately 2 weeks, where he was taken care of with a lot of love and professional knowledge of his resulting limitations. I was reassured and observed my son’s rapid improvement. I recommend Encompass Health.

I enjoyed my stay at Encompass Health Rehabilitation. The treatment, caring, of Doctors, and staff in general were excelent. They even helped bring down my sugar levels. I highly recomend this to anyone looking for the right place. Thank you for all you do.❤️

After my dad's ischemic stroke, a family friend recommended this rehabilitation center. Since Dad is also an Alzheimer's disease patient, sending him where one of his family members could stay was extremely important. Hence, I got in contact with rehab liaison Oquendo, who did an excellent job explaining the admission process. For the fifteen days Dad was there, every single one of the staff memebers (therapists, nurses, case coordinators, cleaning employees, etc...) did an amazing job. One can even accompany the patient to his or her therapies and receive an explanation of the process--obviously one not being of any interruption to the professional in charge. By receiving speech, occupational, and physical therapy, my dad's health improved. At the end, detailed explanation is given to ensure continuity of a patient's recovery after his or her departure. To make the place even better, I can only suggest to replace the old televisions in the rooms. Overall, I strongly recommend Encompass Health Rehabilitation Center of San Juan to anyone seeking for medical assistance in its areas of expertise.
