1st time visit new place: Went with family, mixed thoughts with new place it had a lot of reviews was looking forward to try it. However, we were disappointed. We waited 2 hrs for a table, and when finally inside, the air conditioning did not reach, where we were seated. The server was in a rush, understandable due to the number of people in the restaurant, and the line still waiting outside. But we waited 2 hrs being rushed to order was not pleasant. The food came super quick, warm, and not hot. The flavor was ok, the presentations were nice. We were a party of 4, and we barely finished our plates. Even though we were hungry, the taste was just not great. It is pricey, the natural juice was very good. Could have been an unexpected, busy day. My experience was not good, so I do not plan to revisit.
Everything was amazing. We were very lucky to be able to have lunch during our one day Visiting Old San Juan. Google Maps had the old address, but we were able to find the new location.
It was not worth the hype. 3.5 stars at best.
However, I’d say that the beef/stake dishes were amazing. Very tender and seasoned so well. But other dishes were dry and tough. For example, the appetizer we got was so hard, they had clearly been under the heat lamp for hours. The shredded chicken was very dry as well.
We waited about 15 minutes in line, the people who were in line behind us (seated after us) got the service first, and one of their orders was the same as ours, but they got theirs 20 minute before us, 20 minutes! We only ordered one entree. When our order came after 1 HOUR and 15 MINUTES, it was the wrong order. They took it back so we waited more. We were then charged for a dish we didn’t order. We noticed because the bill had the extra $5 added to the dish we ordered. We were there from 2:15-2:30 (line) and 2:30-4:05pm (waiting for the food, eating in 7minutes, and figuring out the bill). The servers were friendly and nice, but dining in here was such a waste of our time.
If you’re getting a beef/stake dish when the restaurant isn’t too busy, then I think it’s worth going. I wouldn’t go back, but I like the YouTube videos playing in there, they seemed informative. I’m sure the owner is popular but for someone who didn’t know who he was, it wasn’t a great experience.
The food was Amazingly delicious! I thought my parents were in the kitchen cooking that deliciousness! I definitely would come back to eat here. Not fast food. It’s 💯 authentic!!
Good food , the menu is a bit on the short side. But the food flavor and quality were very good. I had a skirt steak that was extra tender and flavored to perfection. We also had some bacalaitos & fried cheese as an appetizer, which paired up nicely with their guava sauce. To drink i had a tamarindo mojito which was divine, very refreshing. This place is a must try, there are some big wait lines outside, but they move pretty fast. The owner was so nice , he came out and greeted us, also took a picture with us. Very happy kind hearted man. I wish a million blessings and success with the restaurant. Keep up the great work.
