Our family did the biobay kayak experience. Overall experience was good and had lots of fun. Guide and driver were good. Would have loved a kayak with a backrest (some other companies had this feature). Only real issue is the van used for transportation was extremely rusted through the floor (rear). Water splashed up but it was the safety concern of a small foot going through upon entry/exit that makes this such an issue as a parent. Also it’s dark so you don’t see there is an issue until it’s too late. Would have paid a few bucks more to ride in a better condition van. Other than this, everyone enjoyed the overall experience for sure and I’d recommend Abe’s.
We REALLY enjoyed our tour. DeAndre was an outstanding guide and incredibly knowledgeable. He had great music and horrible (GREAT) jokes. He took us to the brightest spots in the bay and showed us an amazing time!
The biobay experience is magical but the tour wasn't great and diminished the experience. I don't typically leave negative reviews except at this price but I recommend other companies. Frankly, I don't care if the kayak is clear or not but the van ride over was rough (we were sitting on each other's laps in a hot van without air flow) and the guide didn't seem very excited or interested in the experience - she didn't have a lot of scientific info to share about the dinoflagellates and she also didn't stop talking (it really is magical so quiet time would have been nice). I'm sure there are other guides at Abe's that are good and folks get better with experience but I think they need some more interpretive guidance and better organizing to charge $75 a person
We did the puntas arenas snorkeling. It was fun we saw sea turtles and lots of fish! I had a hard time with the goggles because the water kept getting in my mouth lol but it was my first time, after awhile i got the hang of it. It was worth it to me and my friends. The only thing is I really wish we stayed in the water longer, we were in there for about 40 mins , maybe an hour. Tour was from 10-12:30, so half of that was for travel time. Still super fun though I had a great time!
Super fun experience!! The crew was all super kind and knowledgeable. They took time to tell us all the information so we would feel comfortable on the water. The bioluminescence on the water was absolutely breathtaking. It was a bucket list item for us and it did not disappoint. You’d be sorry if you missed it, although I will say wear shorts you don’t mind getting wet. Thank you so much to Abe and all his crew!
