Mucho Gusto is AMAZING!!!
I just visited and had the Wildberry Cheezecake ice cream. It was creamy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced with the right amount of berry sweetness and tang. Best part is that everything is gluten free and vegan. You’d honestly never guess these were plant-based.The staff was super friendly and welcoming, and the space has a fun, fresh vibe. We felt right at home. We’ll definitely be back. 100% recommend for anyone visiting Puerto Rico, especially if you want a sweet treat that’s allergy-friendly and absolutely delicious.
Edit: The owner/manager kindly reached out to me directly to make up for the error I described below. I felt it important to acknowledge that here and it was very appreciated!
I was left disappointed with the service, but they serve a wonderful product.
I asked if it was possible for a birthday message to be written on a pre-ordered ice cream cake and got confirmation that my request would be fulfilled. 3 days later, the request was not fulfilled and I wasn't the one picking it up so I didn't know. Kind of unfortunate, especially since it was for a birthday and the order cost was about 60 dollars. I would have preferred to have been told the request was not possible or been communicated with that it wasn't able to be done for whatever reason. Or it was perhaps forgotten.
The cake itself was marvelous though. It's a medium-sized cake, tasty and gorgeous. Plus the pup cups are cute. Our dog didn't really go for the apple peanut one though sadly. If you order from their website, maybe call ahead before the pickup to confirm that any requests you made were fulfilled.
Also, give the order number and not your name or phone number when picking up an order. My friend who picked it up on my behalf was told "there is no order" when he gave my name. Hearing that will give anyone quite a scare.
I wasn’t too keen on the ice cream. The snickers ice cream was delicious but the other flavours weren’t as interesting.
* the surrounding area was interesting and worth the drive out from San Juan central to look at all the murals as you walk around eating your ice cream.
