Nice cinema, but the service really needs improvement. They definitely need more staff at the concession stand or a better system for handling orders. Waiting over 30 minutes for popcorn and soda, especially when you’ve ordered ahead online. It’s just crazy and totally unacceptable. Serving basic snacks shouldn’t take that long, and it really takes away from the experience when you have to arrive an hour early just to make sure you get your food in time for the movie.
Went to see the new Superman movie last weekend. Was very excited to visit an IMAX theater in the island. It's located in Montehiedra. I've been to several, stateside, through the years. Always a great experience. Until now. I couldn't believe how grainy the film looked. The sound was not very good and then there were the people with their cell phones... en mass. Movie goers in PR are very rude and disrespectful like that. Not sure I'll ever go back.
I had not been in a movie theater since before the Covid 2019 Pamdemic, and I live in the Southern part of the Island, so when friends took me to the Montehiera IMAX Caribbean Cinema, I was blown away! To me, it was tourism inside our island. You can tell I don't normally go out of my area that much. I felt like I was in the states. The Cinema is much more upscaled and fancy than in the small town Caribbean Cinema back home. It was an amazing experience. Even the restrooms were up in the standards I have seen in tourist areas, hotels and casinos: big and spacious, motion actived, fancy tiled, shiny & spotless, and everything well supplied. 😮 The Cinema was spotless. When we were buying our popcorn and other goodies, there was a janitor waiting for us to leave the counter because my friends child spilled a little of his popcorn on the floor. 😮 All employees we encountered were super nice. My friends had purchased and reserved our seats in advance. They printed them out before entering. We saw our movie, even though it was not 4D, but all the chairs were new, very comfortable and reclined. The space between rows was huge. When we were leaving, there was a team of three waiting for us to leave to clean up after everyone. We were all so happy we said bye and waved and they also said bye and waved back. 😮😁🤗 I will definitely tell everyone about our adventure!
