Dr Hugo is hands down one of the best vets me and my boyfriend have encountered in the world. We have travelled from Germany and have adopted a stray cat here in Puerto Rico. He had some problems such as ear mites and an unidentified illness that sometimes made him vomit, tired and inactive.
The doctor and his team were extremely helpful, patient and knowledgable. Unlike other vets we have encountered before, Dr Hugo doesn't jump to conclusions to churn in/out patients. He examines very carefully before reaching a reasonable diagnosis - a true professional who does great work with passion.
One of the things I thought was pretty cool was that Dr Hugo would sometimes refer our cat as "the patient". You could tell he respects the animalsI because usually vets just say "the cat" or "the dog" kind of emotionless-ly. We could see how much love and care he had for our cat Dusty and for other animals.
With the doc's help, our cat Dusty has gone from having occasional vomiting, refusal to eat and prolonged fatigue, to becoming a healthier cat with a proper digestive system with joy and playfulness restored.
We are so grateful for all his help and cannot recommend him more strongly to anyone who loves their pet(s). Thanks again!
This new vet process was made quick and easy here. They took great care of my dog, and were extremely informative and answered all of my questions. In addition to being a veterinarian's office, they also offer grooming at a great price. Excellent service. We will be back!
This vet Dr. Cordova gave my puppy vaccines while she was sick (which I later learned should never happen) and she died within 16 hours of her appointment. She became increasingly sick as soon as I left the vet office, I called their emergency twice line that night and got no answer, then rushed her to an emergency 24hr pet hospital where she died. The emergency vet informed me they should have never given her shots while she was sick, as it likely overloaded her immune system. I told the receptionist what happened and Dr Cordova didn't even have the decency to call me back and take ownership of what happened. I don't understand why they gave her the shots, maybe they needed the money? I do not recommend them. RIP Playa, miss you.
Dr. Hugo Córdova is one of the best veterinarians I've ever met and interviewed. Although on certain occasions we've consulted other veterinarians(afterhours, for example), we ALWAYS come back to him. He is highly competent, honest & trustworthy. He has been our #1 vet por over 20+ years. The staff is VERY nice, also.
Complete disregard for one's time. The few times I've been there, I've had to spend HOURS in order to be seen by the doctor. I called several times during the day to ask when it would be a good time to take my dog to see the doctor, and they kept telling me to call back....I eventually ended up showing up half an hour before closing time and ended up paying a ludicrous amount of money ($235!) for my dog's indigestion. My dog has had episodes like these before and my previous vet charged a reasonable amount. I was trying to give this vet a second chance since it's located just a few blocks away from my house, but I guess I'm better off paying gas, toll and vet services in Dorado.
