Something that no picture or videos can properly capture and no words can truly describe. Just gotta experience it in person! And Jak is highly recommended. David was an amazing guide and the ladies helping the front desk were so nice. Make sure to try their coffee as well! Very happy I booked my tour here.
Brilliant tour company!!. Everything from booking the tour to completion of tour was amazing experience.
We had a 5yo with us and they made sure to be flexible to fit in his questions and his needs.
The bioluminescence itself was brilliant and We also got a night sky star lesson! Bonus!
The tour was well organized but it was a bright moon night so could see only a bit of bioluminescence under a tarp. Perhaps they should not do tours on bright. But the experience of kayaking in the night was fabulous
Amazing for the bio bay! Loved the knowledgeable, funny, and kind tour guide team, and appreciated how organized the whole operation was (bus ride, clear kayaks, everything was superb). Truly unforgettable, bucket-list experience.
Also if you just generally need anything for your trip that you forgot to bring (sunscreen, etc.), or if you’re craving some coffee or ice cream, the storefront / main gathering space is a lovely spot :)
I was actually a bit disappointed. Whilst I was lucky enough to enjoy this experience with a very dark moon, you are only actually on the water for about 45 minutes. Out of this, you paddle away from the boat ramp (not much glowing), through the brightly glowing bit for about 5-10 minutes and out the other side, into another not very luminescent area. Then the guide (we had David, who was excellent as a tour guide) spends about 15 minutes talking about the glowing creatures, which was quite interesting, and about 15 minutes about star constellations. This all happens whilst you're drifting back to where you started. So, I felt like I only actually experienced the brightly glowing area for about 10 minutes (most of which you're paddling or looking at the sky) which was quite disappointing. Although star constellation talks are interesting, it's not what I had paid to see. If the talks could happen whilst you are floating in the highly glowing area, I think that would be much better, as you would have more time to actually see the luminescence.
