Pitahaya Glamping

After a four-day stay in November 2024, I can state that Pitahaya Glamping is a wonderful glamping site. The location in the southwest tip of Puerto Rico is great and the facilities are clean and well-maintained. The tents are huge, solid and luxurious, and they all feature a private bathroom and cooking facilities. Manolo is a fantastic host, very friendly and conversational, who always goes beyond duty to make sure his guests are comfortable in every way. He personally oversees the facility, and everything is well-planned and executed to insure the best possible experience for guests. I greatly enjoyed the pool which I used each day of my stay, for an hour before sunset, and particularly the observatory which is owned and operated by Manolo himself. This facility takes advantage of some reasonably dark skies (class 4 in the Bortle scale), which considering the extent of light pollution in Puerto Rico are perhaps the best in the island for amateur astronomy. As a resident of Puerto Rico I doubt that you will find darker skies for astronomy elsewhere in the island, asides from Pitahaya. I can also share that Pitahaya is a calm and peaceful place. I went there seeking some relaxation, a respite from the hectic pace of everyday life, and I found it to my full satisfaction. My overall rating is 10 out of 10. I recommend Pitahaya Glamping without the slightest reservation and with my fullest conviction.

This place is AWESOME!!!! Manolo is a fascinating and considerate host. There were dozens of amazing and sometimes rare tropical birds literally fluttering over our table for sunrise coffee. (Venezuelan Troupial, yellow-winged Blackbird, green mango hummingbirds, bananaquits, pin-tailed whydals, and a family of Kestrels sharing a meal of lizards to name a few). We saw the cosmos through the incredible telescope. Relaxed in the shady pool and did watercolors to beat the peak of the afternoon heat. Not to mention the Cabo Rojo salt flats, the pitaya marsh, various remote white sand beaches, and the bioluminescent bay each less than a half hour away. Quiet, gorgeous, authentic, and serene. The tent, shower, table, kitchen, and grill plus provided cutlery etc made cooking for ourselves easy and comfortable. It was such a paradise just to hang out at camp with each unit tucked out of sight from the others by foliage but close enough together for a cozy community feel. I appreciate the environmental sustainability as well, even compost and recycling. 11 stars of 10. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

Perfect spot for glamping. Tents are spacious with toilets and showers in the back. They also have a small above ground pool which we didn't use. The owner has setup a huge telescope for star gazing at night. He's an astronomy enthusiast and spent a couple of hours showing us the stars and planets of the galaxy. This is truly an unique experience. Highly recommend

Absolutely amazing experience!!! Highly recommend, would definitely come back to enjoy this place. The tent was spacious and the bed was very comfy. The dogs on the campsite are very friendly, to owner was extremely welcoming and also shared his telescope experience with us. A+++ experience!

Manola, the owner, is a beautiful person! Very welcoming and friendly. The pool is so refreshing. The nature is amazing and the STARS WOW I was amazed and left me speechless. The doggies are so sweet, too. We brought our camper van, it was only 15$ to stay THANK YOU!
