I recently stayed at the Coral Princess in Puerto Rico and, unfortunately, had a disappointing and uncomfortable experience. My concerns were not just about the condition of the room itself, but also about how poorly my requests were handled by the staff. I would advise future guests to carefully consider other options before booking.
The room was excessively cold even with AC off, and the bedding provided was extremely thin. When I requested an additional blanket from the front desk, I was given one that had a strong mildew odor. Upon asking for a replacement, I was told there were no more available. Despite staying for four nights, my room was never serviced, not once.
There were no blackout curtains in the room, and a bright light from the parking lot outside remained on all night, making it difficult to sleep. The bed was very uncomfortable, and the bathroom was not cleaned properly. There were long black hairs throughout the space, which was particularly concerning given that I have blonde hair.
Overall, the experience did not meet basic hospitality standards in cleanliness, comfort, or service
Much better than the recent reviews!! The place was clean, very cheap and we had good AC and hot water. We booked 3 rooms for 7 people the day before we started a cruise! The guy that checked us in was nice, the coffee and continental breakfast snacks were good. I highly recommend for a short, reasonably priced stay.
I had an incredibly upsetting experience at the Coral Princess in Puerto Rico, not just with the room itself but with the way I was treated when I asked for help. Please read before booking.
The main issue was the AC in my room, which made loud, repetitive noises all night and kept me from sleeping. On top of that, my room was located directly in front of a public bathroom, so there were loud voices and constant foot traffic through the night, but the AC noise was the bigger problem. When I brought this up to the front desk, I expected basic customer service. Instead, I was completely dismissed. The man working there (see picture attached) told me he had gone into the room and didn’t hear anything. I explained that the sound happened at night, not during the day. He looked at me and asked, “Did you record it?” I told him no, as I didn’t think I’d need video proof of a sound just to be taken seriously. He said, “Well, if there’s no video, it didn’t happen.” He flat-out called me a liar, refused to believe me, and never once acknowledged that I might be telling the truth.
Then he offered to come into my room at night to hear the sound for himself. I told him absolutely not. I found the suggestion completely inappropriate, unprofessional, and frankly alarming. I do not want a man in my hotel room at night. His tone was aggressive, and as a woman traveling alone, even though I had girlfriends staying in other rooms, I felt weird/unsafe.
This wasn’t just poor service. It was gaslighting, disrespect, and behavior that made me question my safety in a place where I should have felt secure.
I don’t take writing negative reviews lightly, but I want other women to know what to expect. If something goes wrong here, don’t expect help and be prepared to be blamed. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone, but especially not to solo female travelers.
I loved all about it. Nice location, you can walk everywere, food, beach, other hotels and entertainment. Very clean and cozy. Love the room and the piano living room. Great price. It includes a continental breakfast. 💪🏼🥰
We stayed end of May here. The room was quite good also the bed as big enough for two guys. The shower looked visibly clean. I didn't saw a save so no clue. For a hotel there were almost no service at all other than the front desk and room cleaning. Therefore the rating. The people were alright and helpful. The digital wallet key didn't worked which we didn't mind. However the parking situation is a pure nightmare. If I would be you I would either don't get a rental at all or maybe just for a day or so. There's no way you can drive thru San Juan without sitting in a traffic jam. And they don't have a street rules. Parking is based on first come first serve and I only saw like 3 spots. The hotel is located super close to the beach. Which is awesome. Even tho I didn't found it pretty in any way. There's tons of construction around the hotel which made almost every day tons of noise. Apparently they have a breakfast which we didn't used. Same with the pool which was very small.
