The hotel was relatively clean and although it was a bit dated and had some age issues,
It was actually really clean and comfortable, it's like from the early 2000s. It felt so comfortable and relaxing and had that antique vibe which was awesome.
The pool is really nice as well.
Complementary drinks were great with the small dinner. Lots of choices and really great drinks.
Also loved the casino, I actually won and most of the dealers were really great and talkative.
Overall, a great place to stay!
We stayed at the Embassy Suites for four nights with our two daughters (ages 9 and 2), and overall, we had a really nice experience. One of the highlights for us was the beach access — it was perfect for our little ones. The water is shallow and protected by a stone wall, so there were no big waves, making it super safe and fun for the kids to play.
The hotel also has a few pools (all around 3.5 feet deep), which again are great for children, though adults who enjoy deeper swimming might find them a bit shallow. Still, they were clean and enjoyable.
We really appreciated the daily happy hour and the complimentary breakfast — those perks definitely added to our stay. The check-in and check-out process was smooth and easy, and the staff were all very friendly and welcoming.
The location in Dorado is much calmer compared to San Juan, which we actually preferred with young kids. The property itself is gated, which made us feel secure. Within the same property, there’s a casino, go-karts, and a kids’ playground — nice extras that helped keep everyone entertained.
Overall, it was a very family-friendly stay, and we’d definitely consider coming back.
Beds are comfortable and pool is nice. That’s about it.
Our room has all these little fruit bugs in it. We kept trying to find where they came from.
The beach is trash with so much seaweed and rocks. It’s really a shame that they don’t keep it clean or in better condition.
The laundry area is a disaster. No change machine and the front desk never seems to have enough change either.
The hotel seems pretty run down honestly.
Game room is closed as well.
All in all I would not stat again. For what you pay a night here, it’s not worth it to have facilities such as the beach and laundry you can’t use.
We really enjoyed our stay at Embassy Suites Dorado. The staff was friendly and made us feel welcome right away. Our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable ... great for relaxing after a long day. Breakfast was decent, though limited in variety, but the made-to-order omelette station was a nice touch. We also enjoyed the evening reception, especially the live music on Friday and Saturday ... it added a fun and lively vibe to the stay. The pool area was beautiful, and the on-site parking was very convenient. The location also made it easy to get to other parts of the island and nearby restaurants. We'd definitely come back!
The staff was truly five star!! kind, professional, and attentive. However, I would not recommend staying at this hotel.
The condition of the property is extremely poor. The overall structure is run down, neglected, and clearly not maintained. The elevator shakes, and the air conditioning in our room never worked properly. The temperature remained in the 70s throughout our stay, and one night it didn’t drop below 78 degrees, making it very uncomfortable. The pool area also needs serious attention and upkeep.
We didn’t spend much time at the facility, so we didn’t explore everything, but based on what we did experience, I will never stay here again. The staff deserves better than the conditions they’re working in, and guests deserve better too. If this reflects the typical standard, it’s unfortunate.
