a week agoPremises were beautiful, lots of manicured landscaping, lots of lagoons and greenery between buildings. Room was very nice, everything was very clean. The pool is excellent. The beach was great but water is shallow and not as turquoise clear as other beaches in Puerto Rico. The food options were not that great, I did like most meals we had in the resort. The best part was catered group dinner served on the grass right next to the beach, the view and the atmosphere were exquisite. Spa is small but pleasant. We visited off-season and it was awesome not to stumble over crowds

2 weeks agoWould give 4.5 but not quite 5 stars. Grounds are beautiful and vast. Pools are lovely. Rooms and bathrooms are a good size and some have amazing views. Bar prices are astronomical 4 drinks for $90. Plus we asked for a 1 hour master check out and they tried to charge us, which was surprising. Overall we’d return as it was a lovely place to unwind

4 weeks agoThis place was just amazing. To begin with the lobby is beautiful and clean to arrive to. Everyone is super nice at this location and was super helpful in getting our bags to our rooms. Common leisure places such as the pool, beach, etc were perfect for a hot day! Loved the poolside food service as well as the many restaurants along the location. I do think the restaurants are quite expensive, so going out for a meal may be a better option. Still great food and super convenient for on site convince. Important things to know is remembering to sign all your checks after receiving poolside service, or at the bar etc. overall I would come back here in no time. This is a great family or couple get-away! Super friendly stay, a great location, and a great atmosphere and amenities.

a month agoTRAVELER BEWARE. We tried to enjoy our stay over the New Year holiday, but the amount of guests and lack of staff made it untenable. At all times of the day there was a wait of over 10 people waiting to speak with the front desk. We only ever saw 2 people working at once even though they had 6 desks. It's understandable there are less people working over the holidays but the hotel should be closed if they cannot accommodate their guests. Also, only the managers have any authority to do anything which made the delay even longer. Hostesses at all of the restaurants were nasty and not at all welcoming. Servers were never smiling, closed doors in our faces, and were annoyed when we asked questions about the status of our order. We once waited 1.5 hours for a simple burger. People get up at 6am to reserve their pool chairs and don't come back until hours later. A policy should be implemented so that all guests can enjoy the pool. Be prepared to shell out an additional 18% daily resort fee on top of your already expensive bill. Nothing is included in your rate except for your room, even bottled waters are a stiff $3. Also, a mandatory 16% service charge is added to anything you buy, even takeaway food. For restaurants only Nectar is worth your time. The breakfast buffet is sorry, for $30 one would expect much more. Puerto Rico has a bounty of fresh fruits and vegetables and not much of it is available here. A saving grace of the hotel was the spacious and comfortable guest room. Carlos at the Nectar restaurant was the only friendly and welcoming person we encountered during our entire stay. The view from the beach at sunset was nice as well. Unfortunately the price does not reflect the quality of service received at the Grand Hyatt Reserve. You're better off going to Mexico for an all-inclusive resort.

2 months agoPersonally I'm very surprised at the negative reviews. The 4 stars are because we do feel $26 a day for parking is ridiculously high. The other issue that was looked into and explained was that housekeeping showed up at 9 pm and unlocked the door. She was as surprised as us, if not more so, that the room was occupied. We called security just to make sure it was an honest mistake and housekeeping called security as well. That should not have happened. The food IS pricey (and the tip is added on so keep that in mind). However, there are wonderful places off location that served awesome food. We had a rental car so we enjoyed riding around and eating out. The rooms were clean. The view was gorgeous. We had to rely on golf cart transport to get to our car and back to our room but they were there picking us up within minutes of our request. The drivers were very friendly. We have no complaints on any of the staff.
