Be careful taking the path to the upper falls. It’s possible to climb too high on the wrong path and end up way above the falls heading into the forest.
There is a lot of climbing required and it is muddy. You will get dirty and wet. Climbing the upper falls takes strength and agility and might not be suited for the really little or older folks.
There are dangers of slipping and falling. This isn’t Disneyland. It’s the wild forest. Travel with someone.
Beautiful series of falls and natural pools at the heart of El Yunque. The first large waterfall and pool is just a 5 minute hike from the road, and the larger waterfall is just five more minutes away. Be prepared for scrambling up roots and mud to get to the larger waterfall! Also, watch out for high crowds and scarce parking during the weekends, especially during the mid-day.
Our local friends recommended this hidden gem, and we were not disappointed! The trail features two stunning waterfalls, and don’t forget to bring your swimwear—the water is incredibly clear! Even if you’re not a waterfall enthusiast, the scenic walking trail is absolutely breathtaking. Plus, the hike to both falls is a short distance from the road.
**Parking is limited!**
Beautiful waterfalls. We visit two of the three and their beauty refreshing water was magnificent. Get there early because of the parking spaces. It was a little raining after few hours but yet beautiful.
Gorgeous! A portion of the falls are right at the road and a small hike up stone steps brings you to a beautiful waterfall and basin. Rainforest had so many plants, snails and birds.
