La Cueva del Mar (Guaynabo)

One of the BEST PLACES TO EAT SEAFOOD ON THE ISLAND!!! Our waiter, Mr:Christian was very knowledgeable on the whole menu and really went beyond of just take what we want and gave us other alternatives and we ended ordering not only better, but more items from the menu. I spent over 9 days on the island and visited over 7 restaurants. This is the best of all the seafood restaurants by far. The seafood was way fresher than the others and the compliments like the ARROZ MAMPOSTEAO with a crunchy crust (PEGAO), was out of this planet. I order a CARRUCHO WITH PULPO(CONCH WITH OCTOPUS) was phenomenal. My wife order mofongo with cream and chicken. Can't leave Puerto Rico without eating here.

Our visit was 10 July 2023 for a business trip. We were a party of 9. Parking is not the best, but the place does have a lot of room inside. One of the guys in our group was familiar with this place and the locals recommended this location. Yes the food was good and it was slow in coming out but you can tell it was freshly cooked and we had a big party of folks. It is along a popular road with many eating places. Yes the parking was free. Décor was okay, could be more a club and party scene in the evening. Staff were pleasant, professional, and helpful. If back in area, would stop back around dinner.

Wow!! Amazing restaurant to finalize our vacation. Service was spot on. We split a carrucho empanada and a couple of drinks to start it off. Since we had heard and read great reviews we decided to order several plates and share 🫶. We had a mixed seafood mofongo with cheese sauce, a meat paella and an order of breaded shrimp with tostones. Flavor was out of this world and the plates looked great. I also found the prices very reasonable for what we had, in fact I had to ask the waiter to ensure that all items were on the check. Will certainly return and visit several times on my next trip to the island.

Wow! The service was super fast, and the food was very good. We got in during happy hour, 4-7 pm. We started out with their drink specials of Sangria. Appetizers- emapnadas de Carrucho and Jueyes, dozen raw oysters Dinner- mofongo de camarones a la creola, Frutti de Mare pasta woth Garlic and Olive Oil Dessert - Flan de Coco Everything was very good. I believe the best time to go is on a Monday around 6 pm. The service was fast and very attentive to our questions about the menu.

It was my mom's birthday, and the waitress herd with out me saying anything when she was bringing her coconut flan (which was wonderful by the way) she had the whole restaurant crew come I'm and sing her happy birthday. My mom was astonished and she hugged the waitress since she was so nice to have this detail in mind. I am so sorry to not have her name to give her a shout out!! But it was on march 15 and that Friday was an amazing lunch experience. Thank you awesome waitress.
