El Charro is great! And the staff is so nice! The food, the music, the vibe; todo es perfecto!! The vintage feel of the restaurant cannot be duplicated, and the indoor/outdoor seating is so comfortable. The dishes are cooked well and come out quickly, and the bartender will get you very drunk if you allow it. Great for large parties and for dates alike. I will return!
If you’re on the hunt for authentic, mouthwatering Mexican food paired with refreshing margaritas, look no further — this place is an absolute treasure! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and the vibrant atmosphere you’d hope for in a top-tier Mexican restaurant.
This restaurant is a standout in every way — quality, flavor, atmosphere, and service. I can’t wait to come back and try the tacos and enchiladas next time. If you love Mexican food (or just love great food in general), do yourself a favor and check this place out. You’ll be glad you did!
Highly recommend. 🌮🍹🌯🔥
Stopped in for a late lunch- first off love the setting! It was a breezy afternoon and I felt like I was on the beach with the breeze in my face the whole meal. Both the covered patio and the little courtyard garden area are very picturesque. Service was a bit slow but friendly.
We were seated with a small bowl of chips and salsa- rather small for 3 people but it was free so not complaining. My husband got some tacos that looked tasty, and I got the ceviche. It wasn’t served the way I am familiar with- in a bowl with a lot of juice and a lot of chips to eat it with; instead it was served over a salad with a few chips and some juice at the bottom. It looked like too much food so being over the salad actually lightened the meal and though I thought it needed lime I enjoyed it once I requested some. Fish was tender and the veggies were all good. Though I would have liked more chips the crisp of the lettuce was nice!
This is a VERY GOOD place to have Mexican food in Puerto Rico. It is affordable and delicious. Environment reminds me to Mexico itself and service/waiter was SUPER attentive. Sodas are cold and sparkly. We did not had drinks but the margaritas in the table next by almost had us. Oh, regarding the dessert, also tasty.
The pictures don't do it justice, this place has the coolest decor (relics from Mexico) and opens onto a beautiful garden. Super friendly and welcoming to us gringos. Especially charming bartender and young server. We had excellent fajitas, quesidillas and steak tacos. Wish we had time to come back again for the burros!
