This was only my second time staying in a hostel, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The place is very comfortable, especially the beds — I slept like a baby. The vibe here is amazing, with a relaxed yet social atmosphere that makes it easy to meet new people.
They also have a bar with a fantastic happy hour, which is the perfect spot to hang out and connect with other travelers. Special shoutout to Sami, Katya, and Xiena — they volunteer here and are incredible people who not only make you feel welcome but also give great recommendations on things to do around the island. The owner is just as friendly and helpful, adding to the overall warm and inviting environment.
I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in the area!
Located just in the middle between airport and old San Juan.
The common facilities very nice, big terrace for events and the forms are big enough to stay comfortably.
I enjoyed my stay at the hostal, there's definitely a great vibe that the organizarion and the people working there help keeping up.
Im not a big complainer, but I felt it was important to write a review on this place. My wife and I stayed here the night of July 4th, and our overall feeling of this place was that it was a disappointment.
About 5 years ago, I talked my wife into staying in hostels. We enjoy them for several reasons: They’re usually cheaper, the vibe is usually very chill and laid back, and the atmosphere is communal. Those are all real pluses for us during travel.
This place was none of those. For starters, it didn’t look like it did in pictures. Things were really run down, lots of deferred maintenance. It was dirty! Lots of grim, dirt build up in the corners, several items broken, and strangely, the whole building leaned, a lot! Our room was private and it had a front room with a kitchenette and a bedroom, but they only had AC in the bedroom, so the front room was unbearable and useless.
The bathroom wasn’t much better. It had an inline water heater on the shower. I’ve used them before but this one hard to use, it was really hot or burning hot. The drain also had a shape edge on it for your bare feet.
As for feeling communal, it just wasn’t there and that was the biggest disappointment. They had a big blue tarp over the bar area. No I know they were trying to block the sun, but the dark blue tarp just trapped in the heat.
Not the location I was totally fine with. It wasn’t amazing, but everything you needed for travel was within walking distance, so that made it ok.
I wanted to like this place, there was just too many negatives…
Definitely not a Hotel, it's actually a over priced Hostel. $50 usd(w taxes) per night for a metal bunk bed (that will break your back - check the pic attached - cement block), Definitely not worth it. Most important things for a hostel is 1. Bed 2. Shower 3. Wifi, they failed on all the three. Wifi is so weak even phones can't function, if you are those remote digital nomads, impossible to stay here. Shower pressure is just terrible, specially the 1st floor rooms. I cannot talk for the whole hostel, but my Dorm room was not worth the money. Kitchen equipment is super old and dirty, rusty pans and pots, FYI. Only good thing is location and beautiful outdoor seating. Bar is loud till late night, if you are a light sleeper. They are better hostels with half the price, all good reviews are from people who are inexperienced travelers!
Really good location. Close to the beach and other conveniences. For the price I don't think you'll find a better place. It can be a little out in the morning from the cars, but that will be the case for most places. I will definitely be back next time I come to Puerto Rico!
